Sister for Isla?

We’re expecting a baby girl and finding it so hard to feel inspired by names. We had a few ideas for boys that we loved! But we’re having a girl lol

I’m not looking for anything too unusual but ideally not overused either. I know I already have an Isla which is popular (however the name is just so beautiful and I have only met 1 other in 3 years!) so some similar styles to that please :)

Names from our shortlist so far to give you an idea of what we like… (I know no name will please everyone)

  • Imogen - I love this and would probably be my number one choice but OH hates it
  • Amelia - far too overused?
  • Mia - I know this is still very popular but not quite as high on the lists as Amelia and it’s one we agree on so probably the front runner so far
  • Freya - OH loves this, I like it but probably wouldn’t be my first choice
  • Edie - both agree on this and I like that it’s less common but not sure it’s ‘pretty’ sounding enough
  • Lula - our wildcare choice. Again like that it’s not as common, this was actually on our shortlist for our eldest but OH said the other day it sounds like a cartoon character and now I can’t get that out of my head lol

Also like Lily but this got used by someone else in the family so it’s a no go for us

New ideas much appreciated feel like I’m going over the same list

Are you Scottish? If so, Iona, to keep the Scottish island theme going. Or Jura, which is another island.

I’m not but my husband is 😊thanks for the suggestions!

Edie is lovely with Isla, that would be my first choice from your list. Also like Freya, but I prefer it when they don’t both end in -a. If you do like them both ending with -a, then also Rosa as an option

Oona. I worked with an Isla whose sister was Oona.

Not Skye - you'd be calling out "Isla, Skye", which sounds like Isle of Skye.

I think names without an A at the end are better? I think it sounds bit samey if they both have A or IE/Y at the end.
I like Serephine, shortened to Fin/Finny. But I guess that not necessarily very similar.

We have a Isla and a Zara
