Which one would you choose out of these?

Kaya - pr. kah-ya
Phoebe
Alice
Kaylee - Kayleigh is a bit too long for my tastes

Thanks for your help and happy Easter!

Alice

BootballJoy · 20/04/2025 20:41

Phoebe is my favourite

in order of preference
Alice, Phoebe, Kaya. Not kaylee

Same for me!

DissDissOrDiss · 20/04/2025 17:05

Alice. Strong dislike for the others.

Me too. Love Alice, Phoebe is fine.

The other two are a totally different vibe and I’m afraid I don’t like them at all.

i agree with this.

NotMyRealAccount · 20/04/2025 20:46

Alice by a country mile, though I do quite like Kaya.

CanIHaveALattePlease · 20/04/2025 20:50

Kaylee is my favourite . I really can’t stand the name Alice, makes me think of lice and someone saying it with a lisp.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 20/04/2025 20:55

I like Alice and Phoebe.

Clearinguptheclutter · 20/04/2025 21:00

Alice or Phoebe

Kaya is ok but surely the better spelling would be Kaia.
Kaya looks like cay (to rhyme with May) -ah

modgepodge · 20/04/2025 21:01

I knew twins with 2 of these names!

I love Alice and Phoebe. I don’t love kaya (and I’d pronounce it with the first syllable to rhyme with May or maybe eye, the way you’ve written it would never occur to me so I think you’ll struggle to get people to get that right). Really really dislike kaylee. Kayleigh is a little better but the spelling you’ve put I particularly dislike for some reason.

JSMill · 20/04/2025 21:02

Alice.

saraclara · 20/04/2025 21:03

Kaylee is horrible, sorry.

Alice by a country mile. Phoebe is okay. Kaya, no-one will know how to say (as you clearly recognise as you had to explain it in the OP)

martinisforeveryone · 20/04/2025 21:06

Those names sound like they've been chosen for two completely different families.

Personally I don't like Kaya or Kaylee/Kayleigh at all.

ItsCalledAConversation · 20/04/2025 21:12

Yes Alice/Phoebe and Kaylee are polar opposites!

Kaya - think you’d be always correcting how people said it.

Hoe about Kayla?

ItsCalledAConversation · 20/04/2025 21:15

*how.

LetsWatchTheFlowersGrow · 20/04/2025 21:17

Alice
Phoebe

LetsWatchTheFlowersGrow · 20/04/2025 21:19

Kaia (pronounced Ky-a) is nice. I don’t like Kaya or Kaylee.

Calliopespa · 20/04/2025 21:31

What about Kezia?

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 20/04/2025 21:34

Kaya sounds like the noise someone makes when they fall down a hole.

Alice is lovely..
Phoebe is okay

Kayleigh is basic but a nice name..

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 20/04/2025 21:40

In order

Phoebe
Alice

Kaya only if you must

Kaylee / Kayleigh - not if it was the last available name on earth

Exactly this. People won’t know how to pronounce Kaya. Kaylee is awful, sorry.

What ‘vibe’ are they and why is it worse?

NotSafeInTaxis · 21/04/2025 01:30

FallingIsLearning · 20/04/2025 17:10

I’m a bit traditional so Alice or Phoebe for me

I don’t like Kaylee or Kaya.

Also be aware that kaya is a popular coconut and egg-based sweet spread in South East Asia, so people from this background may assume it is pronounced as Kai (to rhyme with ‘eye’) yuh.

This. Kaya is something we put on toast or in a sandwich, it's like calling a child Jam or Nutella.

Kaylee is awful.
