Title; thoughts on Aleph as the name for a boy?
Another one I like is Calix, perhaps as a middle name.

Would you call your son A? That is effectively what you are doing. Also the various possible pronunciations will drive him nuts his whole life. He is going to say just call me Al to everyone he is introduced to so you might as well just call him Alan If he is not Hebrew some people could assume he is from the name. Calix is just meh!
