We have loved Ada for absolute years - we’re leaning towards Ada Sophia or Ada Evangeline however middle name is not set yet so any suggestions would also be helpful!

Isn't she married to Robbie Williams?

Ayda Field! - so you were nearly right !

for me its bringing to mind a starkers heavy breathing Harvey Keitel
late for his Piano lesson

Reminds me of Ada ( said in a thick brummie accent ) from peaky blinders, Thomas Shelbys sister.

Love it.

I like the AA initials too.

Ada Angelica
Ada Alexandra
Ada Antigone
Adele Arriette
Adelaide Alice
Ada Alison

Ada is a male nickname for Adrian in the midlands. Personally I think it's awful.

100PercentFaithful · 27/02/2025 22:57

I prefer Ida. I think it has a nicer sound as Ada sounds a bit harsh.

NotMeNoNo · 27/02/2025 23:08

The newest baby in our family is Ada , she's a little beauty and already made it her own.

LoudPlumDog · 27/02/2025 23:12

It’s okay, I find many nicer names imo.

Ada Frances
Ada Zoe
Ada Charlotte
Ada Harriet
Ada Lucille
Ada Elisabeth
Ada Josephine
Ada Katharine
Ada Therese
Ada Annabel
Ada Genevieve
Ada Joy
Ada Clare
Ada Verity
Ada Giselle

Is it pronounced like Adder the snake or Aida (Ay-da) the cross stitch material?
I'm not familiar with a name with that spelling.

FlatStanley50 · 27/02/2025 23:18

It’s a nice name, but I know absolutely loads of small children called Ada (London/ southeast). It’s very popular with my colleagues in particular.

BattIestar · 27/02/2025 23:57

Frumpy and old granny. Can't stand it. I do like Adaline though. I quite like Adaline Evangeline - two 'lines' but AdaLINE and EvangeLEEN pronunciations.

HeddaGarbled · 28/02/2025 00:05

I like it a lot but I think your middle names are too fanciful. Poster above suggested Ada Joy and I think that has the right sort of feel. I love Ada Jane, though I appreciate Jane is old fashioned now. Ada Louise?

Devianinc · 28/02/2025 00:08

I’m reading the housemaid is watching and the main characters daughter is named Ada. She’s described as an olive skinned dark eyed beauty who resembles her father. Not that that helps. Hah

thaegumathteth · 28/02/2025 01:01

I like it esp with Evangeline. I do know a few under 10s called Ada if that bothers you

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 28/02/2025 01:28

Automatically makes me think of Ada Lovelace, so a great namesake. It’s a shame it’s a bit trendy (riding on the coattails of Ava), but it’s short, sweet and I do find a palindrome name hard to resist.

As it’s slightly trendy, I’d personally go for a more timeless middle name (if you don’t have any friends or family you want to honour instead)- so something like Ada Elizabeth sounds great or maybe Ada Juliet or Josephine if you want something less popular.

Do you know about Ava Lovelace? Inspiration.

Never heard of her.

Yes I prefer Ida too. It's more unusual and elegant. I know a few little Adas.

TheFirstTimeEverISawYourFace · 28/02/2025 08:12

It's cute
