I know a Trey and really like the name.

marshmallowfinder · 11/12/2024 17:09

Love Asher, but not just Ash as his formal name.

alexdgr8 · 11/12/2024 17:09

No definitely not.
It's not horrible it's just not a proper name in my book.
It does not connote seriousness or solid dependability.
Sounds a bit flakes.
Remember a person is a child for only a v small portion of their lives.
The chosen name should suit an adult.

Devilsmommy · 11/12/2024 17:12

Reminds me of the character in the James Herbert books. If you like it then go for it. Doesn't matter what anyone on here says

Icarus40 · 11/12/2024 17:26

I like it! I do not like Ashley at all. I know an adult Ash - he's never had any issues with his name.

BlackChunkyBoots · 11/12/2024 17:30

Asher is nice.

I'm seeking opinions on the name Ash for my baby. I'm a fan of the Evil Dead series and I think it's a unique cool name, I'm open to all feedback, but I do think it should be kept constructive and respectful

I don't like it. It has negative connotations to me. But if not to you, that is all that matters.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 11/12/2024 17:45

I love Ash. I see it as a 'nature' name - like the tree.

What? Isn't that the whole point of posting? Confused

Yes

MerryChristmasToYou · 11/12/2024 17:59

Would a child born in 2025 grow up knowing what an ashtray is?

Lwrenn · 11/12/2024 18:02

I love it!

Anotherworrier · 11/12/2024 18:03

But what about Pikachu?

Wigglywoowho · 11/12/2024 18:08

I prefer Asher, Ashton (not so much but more than Ash), Nash (maybe). All except Asher make mw pull an involuntary meh face.

Charlotte120221 · 11/12/2024 18:09

No. Everyone will assume it’s Ashley so he’ll have a lifetime correcting people, and ash just isn’t really something I’d name my kid after.

Onlyvisiting · 11/12/2024 18:12

Sorry no, as its at best a nickname and everyone will always ask him what it's short for.
asher, Ashley, Ashton all fine.

Squirrelsnut · 11/12/2024 18:13

I think grey, dry, unhealthy. Sorry.

Echobelly · 11/12/2024 18:15

I think it's a nice name. People may assume it's short for Ashley, but hey, Ashley is one of those names where I think every man I've met called that has been a good bloke!

Teeheehee1579 · 11/12/2024 18:16

It’s a very common name in both my DD’s secondary and also my godsons (different) secondary - if kids don’t like their given name and want something gender neutral then they go by ‘Ash’. I don’t mind it and don’t think it would be the worst thing to name your DS.
