Still struggling for ideas for a December baby. Suggestions other than Noelle?

I was going to suggest Gloria.

I really like Natalia/Natasha, Estelle and Stella. Christmassy without being overly so.
Joy's an obvious one that's not been mentioned, unless I missed it.

Winter- rather than Christmas-themed, maybe Laura (laurel being evergreen).

Wish Solstice was a name, it's such a pretty word Grin

TheLittleOldWomanWhoShrinks · 03/11/2024 19:07

I do have to say the suggestion of Lametta wins the thread.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 03/11/2024 19:14

Solstice is used, rarely, as a girl's name.
Lionel Shriver used it in one of her novels.

Solstice
Decca
Nieve

TomatoSandwiches · 03/11/2024 19:26

Yuley.... like Julie.
Adventa
I/Emma/nuel
Myrrhy
Ginger
Pepper
Birdie
Elva
Eve
Holliday
Angel
Figgy

And my personal favourite Tannenbaum.

KlongDuplo · 03/11/2024 19:38

Any Irish connection? Nollaig (null-ig, more or less rhymes with twig) is an Irish girls name and also the word for Christmas.

Newhorse · 03/11/2024 19:46

Sprout
Satsuma
Santa
Nemo (from the Latin)

PinkArt · 03/11/2024 19:51

Oh gosh please don't give her a seasonal name. I'm a very early January baby and it already feels like your 'big day' isn't so big, it's just swallowed up by general Christmas and NY stuff. A name like Holly or Noelle would have been a permanent 'Christmas paper on a birthday present' feeling.

MerryChristmasToYou · 03/11/2024 19:57

Santa or Elf

I'm another one saying don't give a seasonal name. A birthday close to Christmas is not great.

AdaColeman · 02/11/2024 20:21

Natalie
Natacha
Nicola
Stella/Estelle
Lucy/Lucille/Lucinda
Angela/Angelina
Gabriella
Clara

Why Nicola? lol that's my name and I was born in December in the 80s but I don't think it's a December name specifically is it? Bit surprised to see my name on here I thought that nobody calls their kid Nicola anymore lol is it making a comeback

NeverFastAlwaysFurious · 03/11/2024 21:03

@Ihopeithinkiknow good old saint nic.

FriendlyChattyBee · 03/11/2024 21:47

How about Holly, Ivy, or Eve? If they are all festive, but not overly Christmassy and that they all feel festive, but timeless, then that’s something.

Good luck naming it.

birdiesings · 03/11/2024 21:52

As a December ex-baby, why do this? Christmas already overshadows everything. Let them have an identity separate from commercialised madness.

GreenFlamingo11 · 03/11/2024 22:02

Curious why people think Ciara and Niamh are in any way related to December/Christmas?

MyBrownEyedHandsomeBoy · 03/11/2024 23:15

Eve (biblical and ties into Xmas)
Merryn (tied in with being merry , I also love this name)
Joy
Felicity (happiness is the meaning behind it apparently)
Angelina
Noelle (or be different and try Noella?)
Faith
Cady (associated with present - French)
Berry
Mary
Josephine
Lucia
Angel
Alegria (Latin - Christmas connotation)
Avery (medieval British meaning the ruler of elves)
Belle
Chiara (Italian - pronounced Key-ar-ah, meaning Christmas lights)
Cindy (from the grinch)
Darina (Slavic, meaning gift)
Eira (Welsh - pronounced A-rah, means snow)
Gabrielle
Grace
Jolee
Merri
Nara (Celtic for happy)
Nessa (Hebrew, meaning miracle)
Nora (Hebrew, meaning light)
Oriane (Hebrew - pronounced Ori-Ann, is one of the gifts brought for Jesus by the 3 wise men)
Ruby
Scarlett
Zia (Arabic, meaning the birth of a girl in the season of the lights)

BibbityBobbityToo · 03/11/2024 23:23

Hollie
Marley (or, Marleigh to feminise 😃)
Elsie - for Elsa vibes
Robyn
Sylvia (silver bells)
Donna (and Blitzen, maybe not 🤣)

Diamond/Diamonte (twinkly snow)

DreamyMe · 03/11/2024 23:31

Julia is a subtle one. Jul means Christmas in Swedish.

Copperoliverbear · 03/11/2024 23:36

You shouldn't choose your baby's name because of the month it's born in, you should choose it because you like it.

Mumof1andacat · 03/11/2024 23:41

As someone who is a december baby, please don't give your baby a Christmas name

cheercaptain · 03/11/2024 23:46

Xmas DD is Ella, short for Emmanuella.

Dontcallmescarface · 04/11/2024 08:12

Please from someone who was born on December 25th, avoid Christmas themed names. It's twee and shows complete lack of imagination. Luckily my parents gave me a name with no link to Christmas. If they had I'd have changed it the minute I turned 18.

MerryChristmasToYou · 04/11/2024 08:20

Tinsel or Tinsella

user2848502016 · 04/11/2024 10:14

I think something wintery rather than full on Christmas is nicer - like

Joy
Hope
Ivy
Holly
Caroline
Winter
Rose (as in Christmas rose)
Rosemary
Viola (means winter flower)
Scarlet
Natalie/Natalia
Clementine
Eve
Clara (from the Nutcracker)

WhatASadLittleLifeJayne · 04/11/2024 10:17

DD was almost Gabriella - not born near Xmas though! But Angel Gabriel.

Or Goldie (lot of gold at Xmas!)

Or Angel??
