Thoughts on the name Austin/Ostin

Thoughts on the name Austin/Ostin. We live in the UK and are a mixed race family (if that makes a difference). Please be really honest.

@Iwouldliketogoonholiday ignore the bitchy posts. Some people really are cranky aren't they?

@MontySaucy I don't think the OP's name choices are that weird (except the Ostin spelling).

Not completely over the top. Just names.
(Oh also Henley/Headly is not great but also wouldn't stand out in a sea of new babies and their names)

I know a couple of people called Austin, it's not to my taste but it's a perfectly nice name.

I do really like Zach so I'd go for Zachariah.

I also think you should post lots more name threads, just to annoy the arseholes who are trying to police you. 😉

@Iwouldliketogoonholiday please accept my apologies, I had you confused with someone else. I took what a previous poster said and due to the Ostin spelling thought you were another poster who has posted many, many threads with random, mispelled names.

When we wonder why kids bully other kids at school it's because they have people like you as parents and grandparents and pick on people for no reason. It's an innocent thread about baby names and you turn to being rude for absolutely no reason.

Nope absolutely do not accept your apology because you getting involved in the first place was absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for. You admitting that you basically just jumped on the comments of the previous poster without actual reading it for yourself speaks volumes for the type of person you are.

Also because you don't like the spelling of Ostin means you can be rude and insulting? I Don't think so. You should learn to give an opinion on the topic without resulting in insulting people.

So your comments good or bad are completely of no interest to me.

Austin Morris has a cosy retro feel to it.

Austin makes me think of the city in Texas - like he might have siblings called Houston and Dallas - while Austen is more obviously a surname adapted to be a first name and has been a bit popular lately because of the Jane Austen reference. I've never come across Ostin. If it's a family name I'd definitely use the spelling that was (mainly) used historically in the family, otherwise Austin or Austen over Ostin.

Ostin is awful. Austin is fine.

Oh well, I won't be losing any sleep over it 😂
