Going against the grain, I like Guinevere.

Rosalind is my favourite though.

"Rosalind's a f**- nightmare"

Niche reference, although it is my favourite from your list.

Grin You’ve given me an earworn

Georgiana or Josephine are my favourites.

Not such a fan of Guinevere

Theodora I'm surprised isn't in the top 100 actually! Not sure if that's because Thea and Theo are popular and so I assumed it was more popular than it is

RosesAndHellebores · 18/08/2024 21:19

Rosamund rather than Rosalind
Christabel
Marina
Victoria
Susannah
Isolde
Phyllida

Personally I find Guinevere, Georgiana a bit frilly and Josephine always brings Napoleon to mind.

CruCru · 18/08/2024 21:23

I will say that Rebecca is a lovely, strong name on its own. I know two - both of which go by Rebecca, not Becky / Becks / Bex

ihaveanaughtydog · 18/08/2024 21:27

The first name that came to my mind was Caroline. Lovely name imo

Cheepcheepcheep · 18/08/2024 21:52

Have you thought about Genevieve? One of my favourites and well in your space I think

Calliopespa · 18/08/2024 22:05

I like Genevieve and think it’s much prettier than Guinevere - I think because of the softer “ g” sound. I’m not a massive fan of a hard, guttural G for girls’ names: Gertrude, Gerda, Gwen etc. I much prefer a soft G: Genevieve, Georgiana, Ghislaine etc.

17caterpillars1mouse · 18/08/2024 22:12

Rosalind Ivy - Rosalind is beautiful and I like Ivy in the middle, it feels similar but fresher than Lily, but she'd most likely gey called Rosie, which is everywhere! I prefer Roz or Rosa. Love Rosalin too, has a romantic feel to it

Theodora Rose - I know several young Theodora's (all under 7) and not one of them has a very likeable personality so that puts me off. Prefer the simplicity of Thea or the similar Dorothea. Rose is boring as he'll in the middle spot. Why not Theodora Rosalind?

Georgiana Alice - like Georgiana, and Georgina and Georgia. Think Georgia is my favourite. Alice works nicely even though its not a favourite of mine

Guinevere Rebecca - I like Guinevere in theory, but I don't think I'd like to be called it. Love the classical Rebecca. Lovely and unexpected. Have you considered Genevieve?

Josephine Ivy - lobe Josephine and the similar Joscelin which you might like as I feel it has a similar vibe to Guinevere and Rosalind.

Josephine Rebecca would be my favourite

Weird you should say that about Theodoras being obnoxious. I know several Theas who are all indulged and awful ( one is Theodora on birth certificate but goes by Thea) , but I didn’t mention this because I put it down to my own limited sample! Perhaps they really believe they are “God’s Gift” or goddesses!

Yellowtrouser · 18/08/2024 22:43

Georgina will be known as George. Theodora will be be Theo or Dora ( the Explorer).

Rosalind is lovely amd if shortened to Rose or Roz still is a female name.

StartupRepair · 18/08/2024 22:54

Is Elizabeth top 100? Prefer Rosemary to Rosalind. Rosemary Alice is lovely
Also consider
Veronica
Clementine
Vanessa

I think Elizabeth always is! I do love it though.

I like these, though agree you'd have to be ok with the obvious shortenings. Agree Genevieve or Gwendolyn might be better than Guinevere. Easier to spell anyway. Agree with P who prefers Rosamund to Rosalind. Adding Winifred, Constance, Madeleine. Maybe Philippa too.

wizzler · 18/08/2024 23:38

Love Rosalind
My grandma was Roseanna which I think is very pretty
How about Madeleine , Marguerite or Lucinda

HowIrresponsible · 18/08/2024 23:39

I don't think any are particularly strong - Guinevere is a bit daft and Georgiana overly fussy.

If you want strong classics out of the top 100 you're looking at names like Alexandra.

Edited

I second this. All the other names on your list are lovely by the way.

NewName24 · 18/08/2024 23:47

Josephine is by far and away my favourite, and I also like both Jo or Josie so wouldn't mind if she ended up with either of those.

I like Thea (as long as you don't live anywhere they don't pronounce 'th' and would turn it into 'fear') but I don't like Theodora. I think the whole name is too clunky. Dora just says 'the Explorer' to me, and if shortened to Theo, it would cause confusion as Theo is a boy's name.

Not keen as all on Rosalind

Georgiana just seems to have too many syllables

Don't like Guinevere at all (and bet she'd have to continually spell it out to people all her life)

I like Rebecca (and Becky)

Other similar names - what about
Vivienne
Penelope
Elizabeth

BehindTheSequinsandStilettos · 18/08/2024 23:48

Rosalind Ivy - love Rosalind, dislike Ivy
Theodora Rose - dislike Theodora prefer Thea/Dorothea
Georgiana Alice - okay, bit twee
Guinevere Rebecca - dislike Guinevere Like Rebecca
Josephine Ivy - meh

Rosalind Thea
Rebecca Rose

theduchessofspork · 18/08/2024 23:52

Rosalind Ivy - I like it, but she’ll end up Rose, Rosie (far too many) or Ros (don’t really like it.
Theodora Rose - It’s nice, but far too many Theos and Theas about. Rose is way overdone as a middle name.
Georgiana Alice - l like it, and Georgie, which is what she’ll probably end up.

Guinevere Rebecca - don’t mind it.
Josephine Ivy - don’t like it, but nothing wrong with it

Other ideas

Allegra

Marianne (the French symbol for womanhood being quite strong)

Christabel (Pankhurst)

Genevieve (like it better than Guinevere)

Victoria nn Vita

Diana - due a revival

Artemis

Verity

Estella

Sabrina

Cordelia

Miranda

Ariadne

Selene (sell-ee-nee)

Iona or Ione (eye-oh-nee)

Ellmau · 18/08/2024 23:57

Rosalind is perfect.

Not so keen on Ivy though - I think clinging and poison,

What about Rosalind Alice?

Others which give me the same vibes are Miranda and Alexandra - either could go with mn Rose.

CruCru · 18/08/2024 21:10

Rosalind and Josephine BUT do you like Roz / Rosie or Joss / Josie? Because they will get shortened.

I would like Theodora but I know so many.

Georgiana is lovely but people will pronounce it Georgina. People are annoying. Also, the only Georgiana I know of was the Duchess of Devonshire (who pronounced it Georg-eye-na … rhymes with vagina). I would automatically pronounce it the same way.

Guinevere - I am not sure. The first female character in “You” was called Guinevere and she said her “parents were assholes with the whole naming thing” - she went by her surname. Do you like Gwen? This name will get shortened.

The Duchess of D said it Jaw-Jay-nuh - so no vagina rhyming (fans self)

It’s less fussy than jaw-gee-ah-nuh, but you’ll get both. duel pronunciations are a pain, but she will end up Georgie or George day to day so might not be too bad.
