yes

PuppyDogTails · 16/04/2008 15:45

I really like it but decided against it because I thought it might go down badly in the playground.

LyraSilvertongue · 16/04/2008 15:45

This was DS2's name for a couple of days. We changed it because people were horrified.
I wish we'd stuck with it now, although i do like the alternative name we chose.

Legoleia · 16/04/2008 15:45

I don't think so - Jesse as in the bible man...

hecate · 16/04/2008 15:46

It is a bit (imo), but who cares? If you like it, use it.

Remember that cher song? I liked that.

Solitaire · 16/04/2008 15:46

I'll just drop in
'you big Jesse'. Not my own views, but they're out there

DaDaDa · 16/04/2008 15:50

I like it, but we ruled it out on those grounds. Then we ended up with one which was unisex even though we hadn't really considered it to be so. Ah well.

LyraSilvertongue · 16/04/2008 15:55

Solitaire, that's exactly what we were up against.
Tbh not many people use that expression these days so playground teasing shouldn't be a problem.
Jesse is now DS2's middle name but i still wish wed stuck with it as his first name.

alfiesbabe · 16/04/2008 16:14

It's a beautiful name, but yeap, he will get teased unfortunately.

I know a Jesse aged about 13. AFAIK, he has never been teased about his name and I suspect anyone who did would come off the worse for wear!

vicsta · 16/04/2008 17:42

Jesse has always been a boys name - to my ears anyway

Disenchanted · 16/04/2008 17:43

I prefer 'wuss'

noonar · 16/04/2008 17:47

I know a Jesse. He doesn't appear to have problems with it.

BigBadMouse · 16/04/2008 21:21

I love the name - more so for a boy than a girl. I am considering it for DS, doubt very much anyone will make anything of it if he is built like his big, rugby-playing daddy.

I agree that 'you big jessie' is rarely used these days - esp by the 'younger generation'

2point4kids · 16/04/2008 21:22

Love it. Was on my shortlist for DS2

collision · 16/04/2008 21:23

i love it and I love the spelling of it but I do agree that it sounds feminine. I do know a Jesse tho and he doesnt get teased.

What about Joss instead?

CeilingCat · 16/04/2008 21:24

I really really LOVE Jesse. It was on our list of boys names. I would probably swoon over an adult Jesse.

However, it has been said that I have questionable taste in names.

lol BBM at ear trumpet and monocle

thebluefoxategreensocks · 16/04/2008 21:33

I think it's a lovely boys name! Go for it!

3andnomore · 16/04/2008 21:35

I love the name Jesse....I mean, come on, Jesse James...nothing girly about that...and I am not american, lol!

thisisyesterday · 16/04/2008 21:36

I love Jesse. had it on my list for both boys.
it's a fab name

Botbot · 16/04/2008 22:05

My dp was almost called Jesse (his dad was a fan of Westerns). He's glad he wasn't.

3andnomore · 16/04/2008 22:08
