We have struggled to choose but here are the final 3

Michael (my version)-Mikey(DH version)
Thomas (my version)-Tommy(DH Version)
Oliver (My version) -Ollie (DH version)

Do you know of any other boys names which do posh/casual please advise if not which of the above goes with Eve & Scarlett????

Edward/teddy
Robert/Robbie
Samuel/Sam
Christopher/Kit,Chris
If not i think Oliver/Ollie goes with the girls names.

StillWaters · 09/04/2008 12:00

I love Oliver.

I have an Edward/Eddie which may fit your bill?

BetteNoir · 09/04/2008 12:02

Alexander / Alex
Benjamin / Ben
Henry / Harry

SirDigbyChickenCaesar · 09/04/2008 12:06

Definitely Michael.

Blandmum · 09/04/2008 12:06

Give the 'proper' name an then use the 'nickname' version. That way, the kids can revert back to the more formal version when they are older/in a more formal setting.

Both of mine have 'Proper' names which are only used occasionally!

Tommy · 09/04/2008 12:07

Daniel/Danny/Dan
Stephen/Stevie/Steve
Matthew/Matt/Mattie
Timothy/Timmy/Tim
Joseph/Joey/Joe

a nd Tommy is good too of course

artichokes · 09/04/2008 12:08

All 3 are nice names with nice diminuitives . I personally like Thomas best but think Michael/Mikey might go best with your girls' names.

devonsmummy · 09/04/2008 12:45

i think Oliver/Ollie goes best with your girls names

I like all of the "formal" names but don't like Tommy due to a personal association.

I think that Michael is currently the least popular if that influences you at all.

Hulababy · 09/04/2008 13:11

I really like Oliver (would have been DD's name if she'd been a boy) - shortened to Oli.

Thomas/Tom - nice too although more popular. Not keen on Tommy as a shortening though.

Friend's DS is Michael but it is rarely shortned at all.

Tommy · 09/04/2008 13:13

I'm very nice really LaDiDaDi

LaDiDaDi · 09/04/2008 13:15

I'm sure that you are Tommy but it just brings back memories of a slightly odd boy I was at school with who went out with a friend of mine.

BexieID · 09/04/2008 21:11

Oliver goes nice with the names Eve & Scarlett.

AbbeyA · 09/04/2008 22:13

I like all 3 but not shortened. If you want to shorten Thomas then I think that Tom is better than Tommy.

HonoriaGlossop · 09/04/2008 22:20

I think Oliver is the nicest, Ollie a nice nickname too, and it goes well with the girls names I think.

I also like Edward a LOT - gives loads of nice shortenings, Ed, Eddie, Ted, Teddy, Ned....

shreddies · 09/04/2008 22:23

I love Edward and all its diminutives. Slightly regret not calling DS that, he'd have made a great Ned

QueenMeabhOfConnaught · 09/04/2008 22:25

Definitely Oliver.

Oliver, without a doubt. Sits well with your girl's names, and it is an all-round great name.
Ds is Oliver, and he goes to a school with 90 children per yeargroup, and he is the only Oliver in his year.
(Granted, there are no Michaels in his year, but there are - no word of a lie - 6 boys called Thomas)
Oliver is a fab name, but I accept I am biased

AbbeyA · 10/04/2008 07:13

I like the name Edward but we didn't use it in the end because I hate all the short forms. I find that is the problem with most boy's names-I like Oliver but not Ollie.

unknownrebelbang · 10/04/2008 08:07

Oh I always wanted a little boy called Thomas.

Anna8888 · 10/04/2008 08:11

Timothy - Timmy / Tim

I think Tim is a lovely name. Like other posters I also love Edward.
