Elegant & Traditional Girl Names

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help. I love elegant, classic names that are established without being super popular like:

  • Verity
  • Allegra
  • Felicity
  • Charlotte
  • Persephone
  • Mary
  • Lavinia

But for one reason or another (mostly DH/ knowing someone) can't use.
We also won't use any Greek/Roman goddess names, although I love how they sound.

Any ideas? X

Thank you, these are beautiful! I love Catherine (Kate) but my sister has bagsied it for her first girl haha. Love Camilla too, but wondering if copying the royals is a bit weird.

I adore Lydia, but DH worked with a dreadful girl called Lydia & can't get past that!

I'll suggest Judith, it's so pretty & Jude / Judy would be a cute NN x

I'm desperate to convince DH on Dorothy!! But he thinks she'll be really out of step with her generation & it's too old fashioned. Have said it's making a come back but he sadly doesn't believe me!

Dorothea? Lots of cute nicknames: Dottie, Thea…

I nosily want to know why Greek / Roman goddesses are out (and why Persephone gets a theoretical pass).

haha fair dos! Persephone is out for that very reason, but I love the name itself.

It's just that we are Christians and feel a bit off naming our child after a deity of another faith.

Can still appreciate they are beautiful names, though haha x
