Baby boy born on Saturday and still doesn’t have a name! Names we do like but can’t use, for various reasons, are Jude, Leo and Joey. Want something similar but a little less popular - any suggestions?

He will be little brother to Bonnie and Thea if that helps…

Leonard (Lenny)

Lewis
Idris
Max
Christopher nn Kit

I was going to say Robin but that definitely ends with an N 😂

Needs to be something quite modern and fresh sounding imo as Thea and Bonnie aren't hugely traditional (though pretty!)

Also you mention names you really like which you cannot use because of the n sound I honestly can't see why this would be an issue with your surname also ending with the n sound, can you give us an example? is it like Reuben Jackson/Benson/Logan If something similar then I cannot see the issue?

Surname is Hooton, I just don’t like how first names ending in ‘n’ sound with it. It’s too much of a mouthful 🙈

I think Reuben Hooton sounds perfectly fine you really are overthinking this. And with a middle name thrown into the mix the N sounds are even less noticeable. Such as Reuben James Hooton. Please do not use the name you actually really like because of this unnoticeable N sound as you may regret not using your favourite name for him. I also love Reuben it is a lovely name.

Could you share a pic op? It's nice to name an actual person, and actually I'm just always a softie for a newborn 😄 Congratulations!

Babyhatesnaps · 12/06/2024 09:33

Why can't you use Leo, Jude or Joey? If your son has a first cousin called one of these then I can understand. If it's a family friend's son or a distant relative then I'd just choose one of these names!

Aquariusmumma · 12/06/2024 09:37

If you like Hugo then maybe Hubert? Or Hugh?

Noah? Works really well with your last name.

I know it’s popular but there’s only 1 in my child’s school year and none in my other child’s year.
