A brother for Amos

Please help. Baby boy due soon and we can't agree on names! I like names that are uncommon but not completely unusual / unheard of. Would like the name to have a strong meaning and sound nice when said with his brothers' name. We are finding lots of boys' names sound too harsh beside it!!

Our current list that we don't really love is:
Boaz
Solomon (too long?)
Simeon (would he be constantly called Simon?)
Shepherd
Jethro
Ozzie / Ozzy (too different?)
Abel
Elias
Gideon
Asa
Albert (nn Bertie)

Would be so grateful for your thoughts and suggestions!!

Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions! Unfortunately we know a host of the more common biblical names: Ezekiel, Daniel, Noah, Micah, Jude etc etc which has made the search that bit harder!! Neither of us had heard of Enoch Powell so I'm not quite sure the reference would be widely known in our age bracket.

Such a tricky one when you love the first child's name so much.

I don't know how old you are, but I'm 32 and Enoch screams racist! It's not really an age thing, more how much you know about UK politics/history! It's not like an outdated TV reference.

Just don't do it! Your first son's name is lovely, and there are so many other brilliant ideas (including those you listed), there's no reason to use a name with the primary association in the UK being the rivers of blood speech.

If you aren't in the UK, this probably isn't relevant and I apologise.

I like Enoch.
The politician made the speech in 1968 and died in 1998, so it might not mean as much too young people.
The name is used but not much.

I don't know a whole lot to be honest which is probably why! Not based in mainland UK either, but I appreciate the info. Something to consider.

What is it you love about the name Amos, @ASuitableName ?
Do you want an OT name?
List of biblical names - Wikipedia

Do you want something that is short and 2-syllables?
Do you want something underused?

Do you want something that isn't related to the Old Testament?

For us, Amos just seemed to fit perfectly if that makes any sense? I always just knew he'd be an Amos.

It's the meaning that is most important to us. Would like a biblical name but not a requirement, it's more that the meaning is important. For example I love the name Declan, which means 'man of prayer', however I don't think it matches Amos!

I do like that Amos is a soft sounding name and that it's not heard very often. Coming from a background of working with children I find it really hard not to associate names with the children I have met!

@Teamustbefromateapot , names don't need to match, but they usually have the same sort of vibe.
Amos and Declan sound fine together.
I know two Declans and they're both really nice men, and it's a great name.
