Twin boys: Arthur & George, Arthur & William or George & William

We are torn between 3 names;
-Arthur
-George
-William

(The one that doesn't make the cut will end up as a middle name, with the other twin's middle name being James)

Surname begins with a H.
Twins due to arrive in the next few weeks

If we go with William, he'll probably be called Will when he gets older, but I really don't like the thought of calling him Will as a baby.

Essentially it's down to;

-Arthur James & George William

OR
-Arthur George & William James /
-Arthur James & William George

OR

-George Arthur & William James

For those who are going to say they're really common names etc etc. I'm aware they're popular (particularly Arthur and George). Arthur isn't that popular where we live though compared to where it stands in the UK name lists. Having a popular name doesn't bother us since we like those names.

Thanks!

Arthur and George, just because they were my Grandad's names.
I do believe they are the middle names of King Charles- so topical too!

Snap! Mine too - though I never met them (well, technically I met George but I was about 2 and don't remember).

I have a George and still love his name. I definitely vote for George William and Arthur James - lovely names. Arthur sounds perfect with George in my opinion. I’m not so keen on William with either Arthur or George as it’s likely to get shortened to Will at some point, whereas George and Arthur tend to be used as full names, and therefore sound much better together imo.

Very good point! Arthur and Will don't sound as great together.

All good combos! I would personally go for George and Arthur to avoid having 2 royal names. Congratulations on your twins, having twins is hectic but such fun (mine are 3!).

Thank you! We've also got a 2 year old girl. Life is going to be mad!!

I would avoid George and William for twins as it screams royal fanatics as a combination to me (even if you're not).

I think Arthur and George compliment each other better as both less likely to be shortened.

This is a great point, I'm not sure I like the sound of Arthur and Will

@BoohooWoohoo why?

I would go for George and William personally

My faves ..
Arthur George and William James
George Arthur and William James
They are all common names so the royal connection is nothing except respectful to historical names.

Others ..
Alistair George and Charles William

Yeah we definitely aren't royalists, we just like traditional names, as do lots of people, making them quite common.

What's wrong with the royal names? My 3 girls all have middle names of historical queens

I wouldn't go will and George, it's too currently royal.

Arthur is nice buys it's Arfa round these parts.

Have you discounted Albert?

Theres a little boy at nursery called Albie and I love it, but I just can't get on board with Albert unfortunately. But I don't want to give one of them a 'cute' name like Albie either. It's so hard!

@Suchardchoccy , there's nothing wrong with them, but I did wonder when a friend named her DS Willam's little brother Harry.

Mine are 4, you're in for so much fun

They are the most blah blah British names I can think of. Just go for William and Harry.

Haha thanks. Fine by me, rather name them something like that than the obscure names you see kids getting called these days.
