Whaddyall think? Lovely alternative to Florence or is it bl00dy awful?

I don't absolutely hate it. I've heard worse. Penny is a possible nn.

Actually, I object more to the middle name, Harmony.

When i read the name out of the Times the other day the first thing DH said was 'isn't that a word for ladybits'. I'd never heard of it. Sounds like a prossie to me though, eg Sugar etc. Nice but strumpetty.

I have heard that some people refer to their vulva as Tuppence, but that has never stopped anyone calling their son Willy has it?

My piss taking ex always reads the birth announcements in the Times to see what poncy "pseuds corner" type names he can find - this one sounds right up his street.

LarryVeest · 21/03/2008 20:49

Isn't Tuppence a fairly well known nick name for Penelope? I quite like it.

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 21/03/2008 20:54

Not that well known, it would seem!!

Knew a girl called Summer Day (honestly). Her sister was called Sugar. Couldn't say it without smirking.

My sister's middle name is Harmony, but sandwhiched between two more traditional names, sounds OK.

Tuppence just sounds like a nickname, and she will always have to explain that it isn't.

Taught a girl called "Song" once.
