I like it as a girl's name. There's a strong female character in a computer game i like called Shae Vizla, that's what I mostly think of.

Despite the amusing ideas I still think Shae (spelt like that) is a beautiful name, I did hear it originally from GoT, but I thought it was lovely then (and the actress was beautiful as well). Apparently, Rio Ferdinand's latest baby girl is called Shae. Not 'Shay' though.

I know a Shani who goes by the nn Shay. The name Shay seems incomplete, more like it's short for a longer name.
