Shay is for Seamus/Sean, very much a male name in Scotland/Ireland.

I’d go for a middle name with the stress on the second syllable, eg Shay Olivia or Shay Amelia or something like that.

I think you will find that Shaydee has been suggested by people in (obvious) jest.

I like a pp’s suggestion of Margaret as it matches the classic middle names of your other children.

I know a woman called Shae and didn't think it odd. She has an Irish background so presumably her family were aware it is traditionally a male name. There is also a minor female character in GoT called Shae. Not prominent enough to make it a fan name but maybe planting the name as female in people's consciousness a bit .

I prefer the Shae spelling.

I think Shae is a lovely name, I know it from Game of Thrones but most won't, it's very pretty. I think it's more popular for girls than boys depending which site you google. Take no notice of those on here, I've rather be called Shae than Ivy!
