Hi,

desperetely need help my brain has completed overloaded with names now having gone through the top 1000. Husband has vetoed all of my top 30 😭so left with these back up ones. However, have now spent so long debating names that I just don’t feel anything for any of them anymore and dd due in 3 days.

Possible names that we have not both vetoed are

Maeve
Flora
Cecily
Tessa
Clementine
Faye
Arabella
Anna
Melody
Imogen
Oriana
Meredith
Serena
Allanah
Allegra
Camilla
Alice

Tessa wins, by far. Timeless, ageless, unusual but not effortful.

One of the coolest people I ever met was called Oriana. Possibly modish, bit unwieldy. Depends on your surname?

Quite liking Anna, says ‘we didn’t overthink this’ and it wouldn’t wear her.

Imagine going through life called Arabella? What did DH veto if he let Arabella go?! Might be okay if you have very posh accents; Allegra, Meredith, Serena and Imogen are also a bit yah but perhaps that’s the point.

Alannah was a girl from primary who regurgitated her macaroni then re-ate it, so am slightly ambivalent 🤣

Tessa’s the one. Then Alice. But honestly, any of them would be nice, all of themh are lovely (bar perhaps Oriana).

What about:

Serendipity

Cassia

Sylvie

Greta

Also I don't think Rose is overused at all. Often a middle name but it's lovely as a first name. I only know one. I think it's a total classic!

DoooooWhoop · 11/11/2023 14:53

I like Floella if I had a girl

MerryChristmasToYou · 11/11/2023 18:39

@ChristmasFullHouse, Rose isn't overused as a first name but there are lots of names that can shorten to Rose, and Rosie is very popular.
Rose as a middle name is overused to the point of seeming unimaginative.
