ARRRAGGH!! Help really need a sounding board.

We are having twin girls in July, had our boys names all sussed but don't really have a clue about girls.

Both quite like Verity and Amelie ?? but wondered if Verity was a very harsh name??

Also like Edie, but not sure about the other name??

Any ideas for twin girls??

oh you lucky, lucky thing - twin girls.
like amelie but to be honest not verity.
also don't like twins who have the same first letter (but that's just me)
edie's lovely
amelie and edie go well together
used to nanny for twins they were tiffany and katie (american)

tiredemma · 08/03/2008 17:01

I would have Matilda and Amelia.

Gem83 · 08/03/2008 17:02

I like Edie and Amelie they sound good together

berolina · 08/03/2008 17:02

Verity and Amelie go very nicely together IMO. Verity not harsh at all.

Lucy would go well with Edie.

I think Verity and Amelie go together beautifully! (Though personally I would go for Amelia as I'm not a great fan of French names unless you're French of course!!) Nothing harsh about Verity - plus it has a beautiful meaning. Don't know the meaning of Amelie.

posieflump · 08/03/2008 17:07

ooh I love MT's list
I think Imogen and Freya sound lovely together although wierdly I lke every option on her list!

Verity and Emily or Verity and Amelia are lovely names together (also wouldn't go for one english and one french name).

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/03/2008 17:21

Verity is lovely and not at all harsh. It's on my shortlist should dc2 be another girl.

ladette · 08/03/2008 17:31

I like Verity and Amelia. Knew someone whose daughters had those names and always thought how well they went together. I don't think Verity is harsh, I think it's strong and pretty.

robinpud · 08/03/2008 17:35

my dad insisted on names with different endings so that he could call us and not cuase confusion.. ie hilda and ethel rather than norma and dorma..

outinthesticksmummy · 08/03/2008 17:41

wow, loads of food for thought here!! I also have imogen on the list and scarlett, Estella, Francesca, Anya, Saffron....... oh dear, 1 would be fine but putting them together is whats giving me nightmares!!

I think Verity and Amelie are both lovely and sound good together.

I also like:

Poppy and Grace

Eva and Adele

Posy and Scarlet

Lydia and Daisy

Elinor and Heather

Freya and Joy

branflake81 · 08/03/2008 18:04

Do you really need names that "go" together? They are two separate children after all.

outinthesticksmummy · 08/03/2008 18:25

absolutly branflake, def want two differant names ie not Bill and Ben, Jack and Jill but do want them to sound nice together, and sound nice along side my other DD's name which is quite long!!
