Help - different boy's names

monkeysmama · 25/02/2008 17:42

Okay so we've bought the books (yes plural) and actually read them and nothing has grabbed us so far. We have a list of girls names we both really like - each one a bit different. But without actually finding out (decided not too after MUCH debate)sure it is a boy and have no ideas on names at all.

  1. We want something different - we both have unusual names and are pleased we do.
  2. We don't want anything chavvy.
  3. An Italian name would be good (Italian ancestors)
  4. Nothing that will sounds stupid pronounced with strong London accents
  5. I like the letter "E" - Elijah, Elliot, Ezekiel are some of my favourites but DP has vetoed them all.

Any suggestions very gratefully received!

MM

Paolo ? Francesco ? Luca ?
Eduardo ?

monkeysmama · 25/02/2008 18:29

Luca is becoming really popular here for some reason - not sure why. Paolo I don't like. Francesco is nice - I might run that by DP. For some reason I have a serious adversion to the name Edward and it's variations! Thank you though.

Alessandro/Alexander? (not sure of Italian spelling)

Its has lots of diminutives, Alex, Sandro, Sandy, Lexy, Xan, Xander

Perhaps Luca is popular cos of the character in ER???

Edwin.

Edmund (which I really like).

I like Marco for an italian sounding name, I know someone called Marco Alessandro and think both names are lovely.
