What boys names could be shortened to Roo/Ru?

Hey all! I absolutely love Roo/Ru for short.

Could anyone recommend any unusual boys/unisex names that could be shortened to this?

Not a fan of Ruben and would only use Rue for a girl, but you catch my drift 😉 Thank you!

I follow an Insta page where the Mum has a wee boy called Reuel, shortened to Roo. I had initially thought of Raoul (pronounced Rowll) but that is an island north of New Zealand

My friends have a boy called Rudy. Love it. Really suits him.

I'm scottish but if I meet a wee boy called Roo I would assume ruairidh over anything else. Rupert is only ok if you are frighteningly middle class (will your teenagers call you Mummy?).

@TrishTrix That's cute! And I absolutely agree 😂 we have an awfully middle class surname so Rupert it would work perfectly but then strangers would meet him and us and it would be very confusing 😂

I know a Rupert and a Reuben whose names have been shortened to Roo.

Dd has a friend called Ruan, I know folk called Rudy, Ruaraidh, Ruari and Andrew who all get shortened to Roo.

Reuel is an interesting one I’d never heard of!
