Elodie

what connotations does it have, if any?

PestoMonster · 24/02/2008 17:49

No

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2008 17:49

is very pretty - is it pronounced El oh dee ?

ivykaty44 · 24/02/2008 17:51

Yes it is very pretty and I know an Elodie, a lovely girl.

It is pronounced as above, ellodee

cass66 · 24/02/2008 17:52

no

AllieBongo · 24/02/2008 17:52

i quite like it, and I never like the names on this type of thread.

HonoriaGlossop · 24/02/2008 17:52

Not too keen personally. It's not an ugly name, quite pretty - but I think it would be Ellie for most of her childhood and for some reason I really don't like that name (with due apologies to the many people I have just offended)

Not for me I'm afraid, although I do like Ellie

NutterlyUts · 24/02/2008 17:55

Is this friend a certain MN personality?

I love it

Tommy · 24/02/2008 18:03

so would it be like Melody without the M?

quite pretty but not really to my liking

noddyholder · 24/02/2008 18:04

i love it

Pinkchampagne · 24/02/2008 18:09

I think it is a pretty name. I have only ever come across the name once. My sister went to school with a girl who had a younger sister called Elodie. The other two sisters were Esme & Elise, so all E names!

Greensleeves · 24/02/2008 18:10

Yes, pronounced like Melody but without the M

It sounds French, I think.

Elodie is quite a popular name in France.

JolieGirl · 24/02/2008 18:21

Umm quite like but WHAT a pita for the child who will spend her entire life spelling it out for people

NomDePlume · 24/02/2008 18:32

Elodie is a lovely name.

I do think it's something that I would only consider if I/DH were French or if we had French connections somehow. I think it sounds a little boden if they are not French (or do not have any links to France).
