Feel like they’re all quite different, but would love to get some thoughts! TY in advance 😊

Jemima
Sophie (or Sophia, but I feel like that’s even more popular)
Astrid (maybe with Addy as a NN)
Annabel (Annie as NN)
Frederica (Freddie as NN)

Sophie is my favourite by far.

Jemima is ok, sounds slightly pretentious to me

Astrid I do quite like, but as a pp said has quite a stern feel about it

Annabel I really don't like. For some reason it reminds me of cows?? Plus the baby Annabel doll DD used to have

Frederica I don't like at all.

Just my opinions

pilates · 27/05/2023 21:51

Jemima is my favourite - nn Jem

sadieshavingashindig · 27/05/2023 21:54

I love the name Astrid, it always makes me think of the Beatles photographer Astrid Kirchherr, a very cool lady.

CheeseAndOlives · 27/05/2023 22:25

Astrid or Sophia.

RainbowFish4 · 28/05/2023 12:11

Thank you all so much, really appreciate the thoughts!

I like Sophie and Annabel, but my favourite is Annie, you should use it as the name! The Annabels I know get nicknamed Belle or Bella.

pricklythistles · 28/05/2023 18:48

Love Astrid!

Chucking in another couple of options - Helena? Or Genevieve?

SupportiveBigSister · 28/05/2023 18:54

Jemima - not really to my taste but one of the better names on here

Sophie (or Sophia, but I feel like that’s even more popular) - so boring, really doesn't seem to go with the other names which are a lot more interesting

Astrid (maybe with Addy as a NN) - I like it but find it hard to see Addy as a nn, seems like a bit of a stretch, why not Adaline or similar which are closer to Addy?

Annabel (Annie as NN) - prefer just Annie

Frederica (Freddie as NN) - Freddie for a girl is cute, probably my favourite off the list

All give private schoolgirl vibes (not a criticism)

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 28/05/2023 20:04

I like Genevieve actually - plenty of shortening’s for her to choose from - Jenny, Genny, Evie, Eve, Vivvy, Liv.

MillenialAvocado · 28/05/2023 20:27

Frederica is my favourite, like Jemima and Sophie and Annabel are ok. The only one I don't like is Astrid, reminds me of "Ass-turd" from the US Office.

Zo6789 · 28/05/2023 22:41

Jemima or Astrid, but not Addy.

DaffyDaffy · 28/05/2023 22:50

Astrid sounds too harsh to me, I like all the others and think Jemima is particularly cool.

Frederica is ace but I slightly prefer Freda.

Thelastofbus · 28/05/2023 23:08

Jemima - I find this a bit of a mouthful. And a bit weirdly shouty?
Sophie (or Sophia, but I feel like that’s even more popular) - perfectly fine name. But yes, popular.
Astrid (maybe with Addy as a NN)- I want to like it, but I find it a bit harsh.
Annabel (Annie as NN) - I actually find Annabel quite a grown up name. I much prefer it to Annabelle or Annabella for that reason. I like that it has lots of
nickname potential.
Frederica (Freddie as NN) - Freddie is
cute. But Frederica just sounds to me
like a girl named after her father.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 29/05/2023 05:18

Astrid is my least favourite although I am a big fan of the office US so it could have influenced me.

Jem is a cute nn but not so keen on Jemima as I do think puddleduck.

Frederica is the best

ThePoint678 · 29/05/2023 05:46

Astrid!

RoseRobot · 29/05/2023 08:46

Sophia is my favourite girls' name ever - doesn't matter how popular it gets - it's so beautiful and it means wisdom.

I love Jemima too. Great, energetic name.

I've never liked the name Annabel. It is prissy. Anna is lovely, Belle is OK - bit limiting for a girl, but together - nah.

Quite like Frederica. Freddie for a girl is lovely.

LulooLemon · 29/05/2023 09:37

Jemima - great name
Sophie/Sophia - love - watch out for two pronunciations of Sophia
Astrid - love - no to Addy though
Annabel - nice
Frederica - no

TheYearOfSmallThings · 29/05/2023 09:40

I like every single one of these names! I would go for Asta over Addy if shorteninf Astrid, but tbh it doesn't need shortening.

I would love to meet a little Frederica.

SneezyEvie · 29/05/2023 09:56

Astrid is my favourite, followed by Jemima.

I wouldn’t choose Addy as a nickname, Asti maybe?

SpringNotSprung · 29/05/2023 10:06

Frederica feels out of place against four such feminine names. I know one who goes by her full name. The association fir me is with a person who never stops whingeing.

Yummyyummyinmytummy · 29/05/2023 21:47

I don't like Freddie. She will reply in emails and noone would know her sex and would imagine a male, then a female would pop up in a meeting! Nay!

Sophie is quite popular.

Annabel I think is due to a comeback. I know an Annabelle.

dwightschrutebeets · 31/05/2023 15:14

Love Astrid the best. Then Sophie

LlynTegid · 31/05/2023 15:47

Astrid or Sophie, would not consider the others. And yes, Jemima I do think of puddle duck!
