I absolutely loved following the post with popular names in lower ages I.e repetitions seen alot in a class or age group etc.
I propose the opposite question as I'm looking for ANY names that might not be repeated in a class/year group.

What names are in your child's class that are not commonly repeated?

Just the last post, I've had, Sarah, Deborah, Claire, Natalie and Karen! And a Susannah - not quite the same though.
Judith, Michelle, Rebecca, Tiffany, Helen,Tina, lots of variations of Christina in fact, and maybe Olivia is finally going out of fashion, I've had at least one new one a year too.

There are names that seem really popular on MN that come up time after time, yet I never come across them in RL.

Where are all the Ottilies and Junipers?

I know multiple of each of these in pre-school/early primary! (East London)

Scores of James in every generation everywhere I lived, and I know a few little Thomases and a couple of Sarahs

Agree. Also quite a few David’s around!

There is a Mark in DDs Y3 class. I was quite surprised. Think he's the only one in the school.

Names from the current parents’ generation. So I don’t know any small child called:
Simon
Peter
John
Jonathan
Samantha
Claire
Joanne
Joanna

My 3 year old DS is Jonathan - everyone calls him Jonny 💙

A little Jason too; it's his British / English language name with another name used within the family / by family overseas

Sarah is a fairly popular name with some children of an Asian heritage .

Interesting, the only little Sarah I know has Korean parents. Her big sister has a very similar sounding kind of classical English Biblical name too

Mine is Stella and we haven't met another one yet (primary)

bunnyrabbitsandbutterflies · 13/05/2023 08:24

Esther
Skylar
Kitty
Zuzanna
Agatha
Farah
Beatrix
