Both lovely, think I like Bonnie more

Agitatethebumcrack · 13/04/2023 23:07

Robyn.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 13/04/2023 23:08

Robyn.

Bonnie is a bit too twee for me. Would suit a dainty, apple cheeked girl but doesn't work so well on an adult imo.

BungleandGeorge · 13/04/2023 23:13

Robyn is nice. Bonnie is awful imo

fairycupcakes · 13/04/2023 23:16

I like them both! Bonnie I see as short for Bonita. Would that be an option for you @Newusername123456?

twosquashedmelons · 13/04/2023 23:54

Both nice but I prefer Robyn as I think Bonnie is a bit cutesy for an adult! My name's Katy but in some situations I use Kate instead to be taken more seriously... so don't know if I'd like to be called Bonnie which can't really be made more mature! I think Robyn is lovely but stronger somehow, less twee!

TAmum3 · 13/04/2023 23:56

Having worked in schools for many years, Bonnie has become more and more popular over the years. I’ve only known 2 Robyn’s and I think it’s a beautiful, classic name. Congrats!

RightOnTheEdge · 13/04/2023 23:59

Robyn is lovely.

Barleysugar86 · 14/04/2023 00:00

Both lovely. I'd lean Bonnie though, it's really sweet.

OhGingleBells · 14/04/2023 00:11

I think Bonnie could just about work as a nickname from Robyn. The “byn” sound is near enough and the “o” is pronounced the same in the two. Name her Robyn and then alternate between the two names until she decides which one she prefers.

OhGingleBells · 14/04/2023 00:13

HOWEVER, they also work quite nicely as sibling names so if you are planning/considering any more dc it might be wise to use Bonnie now and save Robyn as you could then also have the option of Robin if DC2 is a DS.

Asiatoyork · 14/04/2023 01:53

Robyn, although I prefer the Robin spelling for both sexes.

Asiatoyork · 14/04/2023 01:54

I have a post from many moons ago trying to choose between Robin and another name for my now giant 7 year old. Takes me back. Congratulations on your baby :)

SE13Mummy · 14/04/2023 02:05

Robyn!

user1492757084 · 14/04/2023 04:01

I prefer Robyn to Bonnie.

I also prefer the spelling Robin because I adore the Robin Redbreast.

Luredbyapomegranate · 14/04/2023 04:03

Robin

Bonnie is nice but a bit twee. I don’t think Robin needs the fussy spelling - it’s a bit 70s.

CurlewKate · 14/04/2023 04:29

Bonnie isn't a name for an adult woman. Go for Robin.

Magnoliasky · 14/04/2023 04:41

Robyn

Trunkyate · 14/04/2023 04:58

Bonnie would require your daughter to be a wholesome Enid Blyton type character.

AHelpfulHand · 14/04/2023 05:12

Bonnie is a hard name to carry off, abit like being called Joy

yikesanotherbooboo · 14/04/2023 07:32

Robin

Sadiegirl87 · 14/04/2023 10:50

Def prefer Robyn, bonnie is quite popular where I live and don't think it works as well for an adult. I'd probably go for robin spelling though

Dotcheck · 14/04/2023 10:54

CurlewKate · 14/04/2023 04:29

Bonnie isn't a name for an adult woman. Go for Robin.

I’ve seen it many times on actual grown up women- however, I grew up in another country.

ComeTheFuckOnBridgett · 14/04/2023 10:55

Bonnie

PanicDisco · 14/04/2023 10:57

Robyn and nickname Bobbie or Bonnie!
