Lily May or Chloe Lee or Isabella?

jasminesunflower · 30/03/2023 20:26

Both names are first name/middle name, only called Chloe or Lily.

We asked about Lily May but many people told us it was a bit bland. I guess Chloe Lee is too? We just think they're sweet but maybe we need to pair them differently?

Other favorites of ours include Isabelle, Isabella, Bella, Cleo (or Clio), Ruby, Cassandra, Eva, Fiona, Emma and Emmie. We took Shelby off the first name list because many people didn't like it and Lilou because many didn't know how it was pronounced. We're not really feeling Elinor and Ellie at the moment. Not sure if we are brave enough to use Cleo and Cassandra is bound to be Cassie which we just like okay but don't love.

We always come back to Chloe and Lily. Then sometimes Isabella "Bella" or called by the full name. But no ideas for combos just yet.

Chloe Lee doesn’t quite flow right, but I think Lily May is a lovely name. Isabella is too.

What second name do you think you’d use with Isabella?

I wondered about Isabella Grace?

Dreamysaurus · 30/03/2023 20:32

Lily May is a lovely name. But it's SO common!

MaireadMcSweeney · 30/03/2023 20:33

Forget May. Just no. lily and Chloe are both nice enough names. Just find nicer middle names.

Livingfortheweekends · 30/03/2023 20:36

Chloe Isabella?

DuchessOfSausage · 30/03/2023 20:36

Chloe Lee sounds dated. Chloe was very popular 20 years ago.
Isabella is pretty but there are lots of Isabellas and Isabel(le)s

What about Isabella Chloe?

DramaAlpaca · 30/03/2023 20:40

I love Lily, it's simple and pretty, but I wouldn't put it with May.

I think I'd go all out with the middle name and call her Lily Cassandra.

Then you get to use Cassandra without shortening it to Cassie.

My other option would be Chloe Isabella.

notsurewherenotsurewhy · 30/03/2023 20:42

Of your longer list, I love Cleo (or Clio). Chloe is nice but not sure Chloe Lee really works. Lily May is perfectly nice - it's very well used where I am which would put me off but clearly not everyone is put off by popular names!

I went to secondary school with a Cassandra who was never Cassie. I don't think abbreviations are inevitable. I like Cassandra too and wouldn't rule it out on that basis.

DuchessOfSausage · 30/03/2023 20:44

Lily Cassandra is nice.

I don't like Chloe, but like Cleo. The Chloes I know get called Chlo and the Lilys Lil.
Of the three you listed, Isabella is the nicest, but from your others, my favourite is Emma.

NannyR · 30/03/2023 20:45

I love Chloe Isabella. Chloe doesn't seem to be that commonly used these days but it's a well known, beautiful strong name.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/03/2023 20:46

Lily Grace, Chloe Rose, Isabella Rose.

TomatoSandwiches · 30/03/2023 20:50

I like Cassandra Lee, Lily Isabella and Cleo Bella.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 30/03/2023 22:33

Drop May and drop Lee.

Lily Cassandra sounds nice. Or Ruby Emma. Or Chloe Isabella.

mauvish · 30/03/2023 22:44

Lily May.

Or then again, she may not.

(sorry, I coudn't resist!)

Isabella? Not keen on Chloe, it reminds me of chlorine! I like all the others on your list :)

ourflagmeansdeath · 30/03/2023 22:57

Chloe Lee doesn't flow and Lily May is too plain and popular.

Isabella- gorgeous, beautiful name. I prefer Bella as a nickname to Izzy, it's lovely.
I love Ruby and Emma too.
Eva and Cassandra are nice but I prefer the other 3. And I dislike Fiona.

FirstFallopians · 30/03/2023 23:15

Chloe feels a bit dated now- a friend named her DD this 7 years ago and I remember even then thinking it had reached it’s peak in popularity a few years before that.

It’s a classic name but as an 80s baby, it feels like the Louise of the early 00’s.

BUT having said that your OP talks a lot about what other people think. If you like the names, don’t worry about randoms on the internet! You’re never going to find a name that everyone loves, and none of the names (with the exception of Lilou…) are mad or out there.

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/03/2023 23:48

Clio Isabella (I like Clio, but Cleo works)
Emma Isabella
Chloe Isabella
Fiona Isabelle
Ruby Clio

In that order

Lily, Isabella, Eva and anything Elle like have been done to death. Emmie is best as a nn for Emma. There is no point using Cassandra if you don’t like Cassie.

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/03/2023 23:49

May also done to death as a middle name

Lee is just a bit gypsy rose lee / usually a boys name / odd

SemperIdem · 30/03/2023 23:51

tiredpuppymum · 31/03/2023 00:13

Lily May is very 2009

mackthepony · 31/03/2023 00:17

Isabella

DuneLoafers · 31/03/2023 00:26

I actually like Chloe. Wanted to call my
sister this but Dad said it was too many consonants followed by too many vowels! It is a bit 80s/90s but actually quite rare now I’d think. It’s sweet. But maybe not with Lee.

Chloe Isabella would be my favourite off your list, or what about Chloe Emmeline or Chloe Alexandra.

Emma Cassandra?

Fiona goes better with Lee if you actually really like Lee.

CallieQ · 31/03/2023 01:15

Lee is a boys name

MaydinEssex · 31/03/2023 01:22
