I know an Isolde. It's a lovely name in legend but seems fairly uncommon in RL -and a lot of people seem to pronounce it "Iz-zold" at first meeting rather than "Iz -zold- ah" as she does.

So many of the names listed are simply foreign and quite normal on their usual countries

I know several Strawberries, a couple of Oranges & Snow Whites. When English cannot pronounce they translate from the original, but yes it is exactly the same as the fruit there too.

Actually MET only one of (rather than only know of one of - either as friends of friends or celebrities etc) there are lots, I just mentally counted up and got to 60 quite easily - almost all actually quite normal names, just either from around the world - likely quite common in the country they/ their family come from, just considerably less so in the UK, or regular UK names which just aren't so popular currently. (I won't list them all because I fear, in combination, they could be quite outing to those who know me).

Am I the only one who was double checking no o d had put their one of children’s names 😂😱I’m not putting them on here. They are normal ish but very very old traditional name eg great great grandfather but the only one I have ever come across. When people hear they they recognise the name but don’t know another one - it appears I have no mumsnetter friends - phew!
