Help me name DS
Robyn83 · 16/03/2023 11:43
DS has arrived, we are undecided on two names they give the same nickname but to me have a totally different feel.
I prefer the classic Francis and DP prefers Franklin, we are calling DS Frankie whilst young and assume Frank as he grows
Please help us to decide which name for the BC as we are registering at 10am tomorrow morning

Francis - a classic name, works for any age.
Franklin is a surname, name doesn’t have a nice sound, definite no from me.

Francis Rossi is anything but wet!. My dgf was John Francis.. I have the female spelling as does my pfb!

Love Francis. Classic. Franklin feels American to me (signed, an American).

Francis. Not my taste but infinitely better than the hideous Franklin, which is a surname.

I'm biased as my son is called Franklin. Not really sure what all the hate it about... probably because it's "American" when it's actually not, it's an old English name.

@musicandpassion , it was an English surname, and I think it's probably associated with Benjamin Franklin and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
I see it a bit like Madison, Carter, Reagan, Theodore, Lincoln, Jackson, Harrison, Taylor,...

Franklin. Francis is too Uni-sex for me. I know the female version is spelt differently, but it always sounds like a girls name to me
I know a Franklin and I think it’s a lovely name
