Stella and Flora for sisters?

Do the names work together? Does it come off as a bit matchy and themed or do they sound nice together?

I don’t think they go well together because they are both a endings.

Straight away I just thought of beer and margarine.
I do think Flora is a beautiful name I just wouldn’t use it because of the margarine.

Love both names, Stella is a firm favourite.

Also love the combo of Stella and Vivienne

I'm biased as I have a Flora myself, but I love it. I've never ever regretted naming her Flora and she's a feisty teenager now! The margarine never put us off.

I also like the name Stella, but I'm not sure they go together because they both end in an A sound.
This is going to sound strange, but I think it works in a list of three rather than two. Stella, Flora, and Michael, for example, go better than Stella and Flora.

I love both as individual names - they’re beautiful, but I’m not crazy on them together for sisters if I’m honest! I don’t think they roll of the tongue very well together

Around here Stella has suddenly become the in name. It's funny how one name just takes off. It's a lovely name but may become very popular. I prefer Stella and Florence so not both ending in an a sound. . Flora is a great name but l wouldn't put the two together.

You're right about the lager, of course, but I like "Stella" so much that I guess I can look beyond it. I don't particularly like the sound of "Flora".

The suggestion of Florence and Stella is great, avoiding the two "a" endings.

Two lovely names and for the record, I don’t understand this obsession with sibling names ‘matching’. My sister lives miles from me, when I introduce myself I don’t tell people her name as well!

The years when they will be in the same school are really very short in the grand scheme of things. Just give your child the name you want for them as an individual, they will not be living their life in relation to their sibling.

No one I know would think lager if my child was called Stella and no one I know would think Flora butter for flora... I think most are over thinking how to make the names unappealing of which both are totally the opposite. They're very beautiful names and I say go for it OP! I want to call my son Balthazar and made the mistake of asking mumsnet what they think of that one 😂😂😂 let's just say... I regret asking 😅
