Lovely name, but for me will almost be associated with Rosemary West, and for that reason would not be one I would choose (friend lived nearby to Cromwell Street, Gloucester).

See, I think of her as Rose West, not Rosemary. And there are so many Roses now, that link has weakened to almost nothing.

Its a lovely name but they have a good chance of been another Rose 😒.

It’s a no from me. I called my dog Rosie. It isn’t short for Rosemary 😂

I knew a Rosemary in school, many years ago. She was horrid!

I prefer Rosalind but Rosemary is fine. I used to work with one whose name was never shortened.

Love it

It's a lovely vintage name. I've heard it pronounced like the herb
-Rosemarie. And seen that spelling

Or with the two components pronounced separately Rose Mary.

What the preference.

KirstenBlest · 27/02/2023 13:30

@Hobbesmanc , the herb is rosemary and is pronounced rose-muhry, not rose-mar-ee.

Drizzlepeacefully · 27/02/2023 13:35

My friends mum was Rose- Marie which I prefer

Lol. I know how to pronounce the herb. In my northern vowels the herb and the name sound the same
