Dinosaurdrip · 28/01/2023 10:18

I have posted on here before asking for help naming baby, she is 10 days old now and still has no name, not even a short list.
We already have:
Rowan Arthur
Sebastian George
Dylan Emily
Please help me find a name.

OP posts:

It is not classed as a unisex name. It’s a male name. Just own it - “I called my daughter a male name because I like it”. Just don’t say it’s unisex.

Ok that's YOUR but....

  • Dylan is a gender-neutral name of Welsh origin, meaning “son of the sea.” Traditionally a male name, this title has been gaining popularity for baby girls in recent years - www.thebump.com/b/dylan-baby-name

So even though it USED to only be a male name it is now a UNISEX name...

so again your opinion is irrelevant because we're in 2023 and Dylan can be used for a girl.

Thebump.com is hardly an authority on baby names...

I was confused by the Rowan Arthur and the Dylan Emily.

Rowan, Sebastian, Dylan and:

Bronwyn
Charlotte
Brogan

flowersinmyhair15 · 28/01/2023 10:29

Or she named her son Dylan and are just telling people what the baby girls siblings are called...?

It’s either a girl with the first name Dylan, or a boy with the middle name Emily. The most obvious assumption is that Dylan is a girl.

OP;
Wren
River
Ellis
Erin

The Bump is not any sort of reliable source of information. My opinion is as relevant as anyone else’s. Dylan is a male name. If you use it for a girl, it’s still a male name, no matter how much you protest.

flowersinmyhair15 · 28/01/2023 12:06

And you are 🙄

You may as well just shut up because you are literally talking out your arse and can't accept that people like Dylan for girls.

And again no one cares for your opinion.

Do you think just because you and 2 others say it's a boys name and shouldn't be used to name a girl -

OP's going to think "oh they're right, best change my 10 year olds name because @LaLuz7 @KirstenBlest & @Outfor150 on mums net say that it's not a girls name"

MashedUpPotatoes · 28/01/2023 12:08

Jocelyn
Morven
Carmen

Barely dodgy is it 🤣 Just tells people Dylan is becoming popular as a girls name

LaLuz7 · 28/01/2023 12:11

The boy’s name Dylan is the most popular Welsh name in Wales and according to the Office of National Statistic in 2018 it was in 16th position, and it was in 40th position in England behind names such as Oliver, Jack and Alfie.

And

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dylan_(name)#:~:text=Dylan%20is%20a%20male%20given,given%20to%20boys%20in%202010.

two can play this game, @flowersinmyhair15 :)

I’ve gone with your ‘running out of time’ comment @Dinosaurdrip

What about this....

Ericka

– of Scandinavian origin meaning ‘long time’

There are others, but Ericka would go really well with your other little girl Dylan.

Blendandmix · 28/01/2023 12:22

There's a girl on desperate housewives called Dylan, I love it for a girl. Don't see how it's any different to a name like Riley!

I think Morgan is really pretty!

Reinventinganna · 28/01/2023 12:23

Your children’s names are beautiful!

How about:
Rowan, Sebastian, Dylan and Charlotte (nn Charlie or Lottie)
Rowan, Sebastian, Dylan and Enid
Rowan, Sebastian, Dylan and Delilah

Blendandmix · 28/01/2023 12:24

really feel for the OP

Celynfour · 28/01/2023 12:25

What a lot of unasked for opinions . OP is asking baby name suggestions not a debate on the names of the children she already has .
OP I have a Martha and we (and she) have always loved it .
I also like Joni , Robyn , Mari, Hester and Loveday .
everyone make of those what you will .
Enjoy your new baby :)

DemBonesDemBones · 28/01/2023 12:27

@LaLuz7 blimey get a grip!

Aquamarine1029 · 28/01/2023 12:28

Farrah Jane

Reinventinganna · 28/01/2023 12:43

@Celynfour Joni is a great suggestion
