Baby names

Is she a camila?

Throughout the worlds loneliest pregnancy, I've struggled to find a connection to a name that I love for my baby. Baby girl arrived yesterday , after a very difficult labour which resulted in a uterine scar rupture and emergency section, whilst without a birth partner. I would always flit between camilla and camille. Camille I've now ruled out and was wondering if I'm actually brave enough to use camilla as everyone seems to make the Royal connection and she's not the most favoured woman.

Then today I came across camila and am wondering if this is the one? Name meanings are very important to me and I like that if she chooses to be known as just mila, mila means miracle which she is. Her middle name will be eve.

Please help me chose and or give me confidence in the name choice. I don't know why I'm still hesitant.

Her elder sister is orla, if that helps.

Is she a camila?

Gorgeous! I love the name. It was on our list. I would’ve shortened to Millie.

Congratulations!!

I like Camila (pronounced Cameela) far more then Camilla or Camille. It would go well with Orla, as would the abbreviation Mila ('Meela').

I think people will be familiar with the singer Camila Cabela.

She is beautiful, congratulations! I really like Camilla and I think it flows nicely with Orla. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to decide right away if you’re not sure yet, you do have some time to think.

She's a Clara or Bella - not Camila (looks misspelt)

Oh she's lovely. I like Mila as the full name. And it sounds lovely with Orla. Congratulations!

What a beautiful baby!

Camilla is lovely. I'm teaching a Polish Kamila at the moment too and I like that - and everyone knows how to spell it! These things aren't as much of a problem as people think they will be!

Camilla, beautiful name with a lovely royal connection. Nice nickname potential of Mila. Camille is harsher sounding bit still nice and quite a cool name.

I know a teenage Carmella which is also a nice name.

Your daughter is gorgeous, congratulations. There are plenty of people called Camilla but if you spelt it with only one L, the 'mil' bit would be pronounced 'mile', which is not very nice (imo). What's wrong with Camille?

You have plenty of time, wait a bit before you commit to a name. I do hope you recover well, you certainly went through a lot to have your little girl but she will be worth it.

I've a Camilla, and love her name. I like that it's a well-known name, but not too many around.

Camilla is a lovely name, when I hear it I associate it with a lovely colleague. Not the Queen Consort.
She is beautiful, congrats Flowers

They're both lovely names but Camilla goes better with Eve.

Aoife. She looks like an Aoife to me and goes lovely with Orla.
I'm sorry camilla reminds me of the queen consul.
Congratulations. X

Congratulations!

I prefer Camila to Camilla, and both are a legit spelling/name. I also love Milagra which means miracle.

Camilla is a most beautiful name, and is lovely with Eve.

Camila would spend her life correcting the spelling. Mila and similar derivatives are cute for a little girl, but I don't think they transfer well to adult names, and I think they will soon seem dated.

Just to throw in a favourite of mine with a similar vibe to Camilla, have you considered Corinna?

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter! Thanks Bear
