L middle name for Delilah

Basically that. After we’d chosen Delilah DH mentioned he would like baby to have the same initials as his mum as one of our other children has my mums name.

I’m drawing a blank, Delilah is already quite L heavy so think it needs to be a shorter name. Any suggestions?

My top contender was Loveday but DH not keen

I don't really think it matters?!

How often do both named get said together, other than when announcing the birth or filling out a form?!

Just go with a middle name that you like.

I think Delilah Louise flows the best but I'm not sure it's that important!

If you like Delilah but also love Lila you could have a Delilah Lila and it really wouldn't be a big deal once you're past the introducing baby to everyone phase.

Quite like Delilah Lila actually. 😂

Just my opinion!

Delilah Lila??? Are you serious??😂😂😂

@Holeinthetoad i like Luann.
Or London is cool.
Levi.

something that’s a bit boyish gives the name a cooler twist and I think you get away with it cos Delilah is quite feminine.

DuchessOfSausage · 26/01/2023 09:56

@daysleepers , I'm sure every other girl has Louise as a middle name.

I think you'll find that it's every other mum has Louise as a middle name.

Now I've got the chorus from Simon & Garfunkel's 'The Boxer' in my head with 'Delilah Lila'!

Theoldwoman · 26/01/2023 10:22

Love day is awful.

Delilah Louise

I like Loveday and Lark posted above too.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 26/01/2023 10:48

Could always go for Demelza Loveday - are you based anywhere near Cornwall?!

erehj · 26/01/2023 11:22

I think any L name makes it a tongue twister. I wouldn't want to inflict that on my child.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 26/01/2023 12:14

It might just be me, but as an adult, I have to say it slowly to avoid adding an extra involuntary 'L' sound into the combination, so I don't know if that could be a factor of potential difficulty for a young child?

Then again, I always find my eyes get boggly when I see the surname Phillips - working out whether it has one 'L' or two, as you get both variants - so I might just be getting generally old and worn out!

Joystir59 · 26/01/2023 12:21

I t immediately thought of Delilah Louise

wetpebbles · 26/01/2023 12:26

Dee Lilah

Go with Loveday - it is a beautiful name.

KirstenBlest · 26/01/2023 12:31

Delilah Luluella.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 26/01/2023 12:50

Delilah Luluella. Grin

You know when you get a pack of alphabet stickers to spell out somebody's name on a card or something - with two, three, even four of the most common letters.... she, along with her good friend Zuzanna ZZyliyzs, would be left as upset as little Balonz and Data are when they're frantically twirling around the stands with personalised pencil cases in the gift shop Grin

sunseaandme · 26/01/2023 12:54

Please don't go with Louise or is the most overused middle name of all time (in my generation anyway!) I think Lou or lily or lavender are good options xx

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 26/01/2023 12:55

Go with Loveday - it is a beautiful name.

The only problem I find is that it always reminds me of this:

KirstenBlest · 26/01/2023 12:56

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll , I was thinking that if you were going for an overload of Ls you might as well go all the way.

Only once did I see a souvenir with my name on it. I didn't buy it.
If anyone sees something with my name on it, they buy it for me, and as a result I have two of the same two items. They meant well.

ouse · 26/01/2023 12:57

Could baby have his mum’s middle name if you’re doing this for her?

KirstenBlest · 26/01/2023 12:59

I'd go for Yasmin Yvonne Yael Delilah.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 26/01/2023 13:07

I'd go for Yasmin Yvonne Yael Delilah.

I do see what you did there Grin Grin Grin
