Just brainstorming a load of name. Fallon is on the list if we have a girl but struggling to think of a middle name that flows with it 🤔

Any suggestions?

Fallon Jane came to mind, I think they go well together.

P.S. it is in no way an Irish name as suggested by PP .

It is an Irish name. I thought it was too so I looked it up www.thebump.com/b/fallon-baby-name

Anoisagusaris · 21/01/2023 21:20

I’m Irish and have never heard of a single Irish person called Fallon 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is a common surname though.

almondflake · 22/01/2023 01:15

How about Rae , Fallon Rae ?

mathanxiety · 22/01/2023 01:28

@LondonPsych
It's only an Irish girls' name in the imagination of whatever computer generates Irish baby name lists.

mathanxiety · 22/01/2023 01:31

Also @VioletCharlotte

Most Irish name lists are amazing works of fiction.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/01/2023 04:02

Grace. 😊

Outnumberedwoman · 22/01/2023 04:35

Fallon Jessica

MissMarplesbag · 22/01/2023 06:35

There are nicer names out there but if you insist then choose a shorter middle name to balance it out.

Thanks guys!

This gave me a laugh 🤣

But I don't need to rethink anything, none of your opinions would put me off, was only asking a simple question.

Our baby, our choice, still gonna carry on brainstorming ✌ Mwah 😚

Absolutely your baby your choice and it is a lovely name however comes with it connotations that will distract from that.

Fallon is a name that’s familiar to a large part of the population in the UK and abroad are familiar with and connect to a ridiculous TV show that’s still around now.

I know that when I’m recruiting someone for a job and see the name Fallon I’ll instantly go to Dynasty and have preconceived ideas about that person. It’s like calling a baby Bianca or Patsy. It’s now engrained in characters from popular culture

Try seeing every name in a professional role or something big. Can you see a lawyer, Dr or Prime minister being called Fallon?

Think about how a name can impact their life as an adult not just a cute baby name.

ElvisCymraeg · 22/01/2023 06:49

The reactions on this thread are bonkers.
I'm early 40s and didn't make the Dynasty connection. The Netflix show isn't a huge hit, so it's not like calling her Wednesday or something...
I know the name from The Archers. I like it.

It’s not my favourite name but this reactions a bit much. I’m early 30s and haven’t heard of dynasty, neither has OP, I very much doubt in 20-30 years people hiring this baby will be thinking of dynasty with such a strong connection when hiring this person. Also Fallon isn’t ‘cute’ like mitsy is or something, it’s a perfectly strong name. Not one I’d go for but I’ve heard far stranger out there that may affect jobs.

You thought Fallon Jane because of Jane Fallon, the author and partner of Ricky Gervais.

itsme432 · 22/01/2023 08:43

Thankyou.

Jane was my mums middle name so that is a option for us.
Rae is a name I have suggested for a middle name regardless of the first name if it flows well but my partners not keen!

We don't even know the sex of the baby yet, we we're only having a quick brainstorm and Fallon came up as a name we both liked.

There are other names on our list I prefer, but my partner likes Fallon more (no he hasn't seen Dynasty) we got the name from Google lol, and if I posted some of our other names I'd expect backlash on here, not everyone has the same opinions. I think the majority of posts I have seen regarding baby names they're have been very mixed responses.

Fallon Eliza
Fallon Alice
Fallon Amelia
Fallon Catherine
Fallon Elizabeth
Fallon Verity
Fallon Sophia / Sophie
Fallon Kate

I would advise against using Rae / May / Rose - they are the ubiquitous filler middle names since 2000 and very dull.

No one has ever "seen it" 😱

I was going to say Colby 😂. Did she ever become a colby?

LondonPsych · 22/01/2023 10:40

@mathanxiety fair enough. I've met a couple of Irish Traveller girls with the name of which is what I was basing it on

Arou · 22/01/2023 10:51

People on mumsnet are nobs trust me on that lol. So unnecessarily mean. It’s always the same on name threads unless you’re an ‘Elizabeth’ ‘Charlotte’ or ‘Beatrice’ have a raging hard on for royals, Boden shopping zZz you’re going to get backlash because people don’t know how to behave online. I’m in my early thirties and have never heard of dynasty either! This place is not normal just to reassure you! You’d get a nicer response almost anywhere else on the internet
