Is Frank awful?

My DH has suggested Frank for DS2, it seems to fit well with DS1 who is Ted and DD Nancy.
Is Frank acceptable in 2023? Or is it ridiculously harsh sounding.
I do not like Franklin could maybe be swayed with Francis but do not love it.

I like it.

HammergoHammer · 14/01/2023 12:43

I really like it

Fuckstix · 14/01/2023 12:45

Harsh and ugly sounding to me on its own but somehow ok as a short form of Francis which is nice. Franklin is worse, Frankie worse still.

Mercurial123 · 14/01/2023 12:45

I hate it.

LindorDoubleChoc · 14/01/2023 12:47

I love Frank. Gorgeous name for a boy.

DramaAlpaca · 14/01/2023 12:48

It's a very unattractive name to me.

That said, it is perfectly in the same style as Ted and Nancy and goes really well with them. While not my sort of names at all, the three of them sound great together. So I say go for it.

Twoinapod · 14/01/2023 12:51

Always makes me think of a big burley bald bloke with scars and tattoos on his knuckles

DadANDPK · 14/01/2023 12:51

I think it's great!

if you're planning on giving bith to a 75 year old!

BigFloppa · 14/01/2023 12:52

A lot of little Frank's where I live. I've noticed a lot are Frankie until they get a bit older.

75 year olds were babies once and babies will, hopefully, become 75 year olds. This is not a good reason for chosing or not chosing a name.

Not keen on Frank (bit of an old guy's name) but love Frankie. Frankie could grow up to be Frank, so yes!

DurdleSnore · 14/01/2023 20:30

No. I like it and it goes well with sibling names.

MissMaple82 · 14/01/2023 20:34

Love the name Frank

Giles1008 · 14/01/2023 20:34

Love it!

ZenNudist · 14/01/2023 20:37

Francis is a great name and I know several nn frankie. I'm Catholic. It's a very solid name.

strawberry2017 · 14/01/2023 20:37

Tbh I hate frank and Frankie as names. Can't tell you why but there's nothing I like about them

Luredbyapomegranate · 14/01/2023 20:41

It’s popular and I like it

But do prefer it as a short form of Francis. It goes well with your other children’s names

yoshiblue · 14/01/2023 20:45

I like it, I work with a Frank in my team, lovely guy in his 30s.

OneCup · 14/01/2023 20:51

Not keen I'm afraid. I just hear a mix of rank and frack(ing).

neonjumper · 14/01/2023 20:59

I teach a Frank ... fabulous name which I love using .

Hoolihan · 14/01/2023 21:01

Love it, goes great with your other names (which I also love!).

sunglassesonthetable · 14/01/2023 21:02

What a trio! Ted, Nancy and Frank. Love it.

Twoscotcheggsandajarofmarmite · 14/01/2023 21:04

I have a Frank, he was Frankie when he was little, Francis on his birth cert. It has always suited him, he’s a dependable, lovely young man. He was named after my grandad but I loved the name anyway.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 14/01/2023 21:05

I wanted to call DS Francis (Frank/Frankie) and still slightly regret being talked out of it. I think it's a great name!

Eatentoomanyroses · 14/01/2023 21:09

I quite like it. I also like Douglas ‘Dougie’ which I think would be nice with your other dc names
