Help, she’s here but doesn’t have a name

Really struggling as we’ve either used our favourites or have family/close friends who’ve used them.

Need something short, unfussy to match siblings.

Names we kind of agree are a maybe:
lsla, Lara, Ava, Lyla, Kayla.

I also like Erin and Cara. He doesn’t.

He likes Clara and Layla. I dont.

We’re not miles apart really, but can’t find a solution. Probably because we’re overthinking it, but none stick out as feeling ‘right’.

Any thoughts/suggestions please. Any advice if you didn’t really have a favourite or couldn’t agree with partner so had to settle on a ‘maybe’ name. Did you grow to love it? Do you still have second thoughts?

Either Lara or Lyla are beautiful and very close to names your DH has suggested (Clara/Layla). Imo you can't go wrong with either. I'd go with Lara. No name will instantly feel like 'omg yes that's her!!!' as it's weird calling a new baby by any name you've chosen I think. Just keep calling her by her name anyway and after a few months it will feel more normal!

I was in a similar situation me and DH could not agree on any names. Finally we agreed on one but he was more swayed because of the meaning of the name.
If you like a name look up the meaning of the name and tell your partner hopefully he will be swayed and agree like mine did! x

Forgot to say i like the names Lara and Ava!

We named our baby girl Elena which means shining light. We were torn between this and Aurelia but she came out with blue eyes and blonde hair so "shining light" it was to be!

She's here already? Then we absolutely need a picture for inspiration please!

lsla, Lara, Ava, Lyla, Kayla are your 'sort of' names which seem lovely but if we get to see her adorable face (given that in a month it will have changed completely and we won't track her down or stalk her in any way) it makes get be easier to make suggestions!

Couple of names I quite like that I didn't consider at the time are: Mila, Freya and Esme. There's some beautiful girls names around. I'm sure Ul find something you both like 🤞🏻

Our second daughter didn't have a name for a week. We had a couple of names we both liked thought we wld decide when she was born. You know the saying when u see baby Ul see what they look like and you'll know. Well that's a load of shite 😂 if anything I went off all the names apart from one. My dh liked the more traditional variation of the name and I liked her modern one. I'm not that stubborn and feel I always give in and compromise or let him "win". I refused to give in and dh eventually said oh just call her that then! 😀 I love her name and it really suits her I'm so glad I didn't compromise and give in.

Lara is a lovely name. Larissa is you want something 'frillier'. Lana or Lois if you want something slightly different but similarly elegant
