Middle name for Hallie

Expecting DD in feb and have finally agreed on the name Hallie.

I'd like her to have a middle name as DS son, but I know it's not essential.

My mum also passed away a few years ago now, so I'd like to try and tie her name into it if I could somewhere but I'm really struggling so wondered if anyone had any suggestions

My mums name was Caroline
DD initials will be HS (without the middle name at this point obviously)

Any ideas

Do we think Hallie Caroline sounds weird?

Hallie Caroline is lovely!

MaryMollyPolly · 17/12/2022 12:17

Caroline is a particularly great name. Hallie Caroline is fine.

FayCarew · 17/12/2022 13:16

Caroline is lovely and the connection makes it special.

JamSandle · 17/12/2022 13:22

Jade
Grace
Marie

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/12/2022 14:16

I think Hallie Caroline works well.

Hallie is a little on the faddy side, and Caroline has more history and weight so balances it out.

MoggyMittens23 · 17/12/2022 15:17

Hallie is a lovely name and I think Hallie Caroline is nice. She will never use it anyway! And it's a nice nod to your mum

Theoldwoman · 17/12/2022 15:24

Hallie Caroline is fine

Hallie Marguerite
Hallie Meredith
Hallie Zara
Hallie Frances

Darthwazette · 17/12/2022 15:25

Definitely go with Caroline, if actually consider it for her first name. It’s lovely.

B1993 · 17/12/2022 15:32

Hallie Belle
Hallie Jade
Hallie Grace
Hallie Beth

I personally think one syllable middle names sounds best with Hallie but as Caroline has such sentimental value, there's no reason that you couldn't just use that.

Spikeyball · 17/12/2022 15:35

Hallie Caroline is fine and nice to use a name that means something to you.

MumofSpud · 17/12/2022 15:55

Yes to Hallie Caroline
When I see students' full names at school, it always makes me smile when I see a contemporary first name and then a more trad middle name which is obviously a grandparent's
For example;
Jayden Brian
Reilly Simon
Chloe Patricia

I have more than one Year 7 who think I am a witch when I say so you have a grandad called Brian !!

I think it's a lovely tribute !

VioletLemon · 17/12/2022 15:57

Sounds lovely!

IDontWantToBeAPie · 17/12/2022 17:13

Hallie Carolina

2020firsttimemum · 17/12/2022 19:16

Thanks all, I'm glad it doesn't sound weird

I appreciate she won't use it in every day life anyway

I definitely use DS first and middle name when he's in trouble but his seems to roll off the tongue slightly better 🙈

I have a Hallie Sarah- after her gran - it's a beautiful name I agree it's with previous posters it's faddy and needs a strong middle name so Caroline is perfect. Be prepared for a lifetime of people thinking her name is Hayley though! Very annoying

herbaltea21 · 17/12/2022 22:03

I was thinking Hallie Rae.
But Hallie Caroline sounds lovely and it has a special meaning to it too ☺️

zhivagodr · 17/12/2022 22:04

I think Hallie Caroline sounds lovely. I've also only ever met nice Caroline's 😊

blindmansbluff · 17/12/2022 22:18

My DD is Hallie Lauren, also after a family member. The two syllables for each name work well

Elspethelf · 17/12/2022 23:14

My DD was Halima Nicole (nn Hali). With Hallie, I like names that end without the vowel sound, so Caroline, Nicole, Jane, Meredith, Rose etc

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 18/12/2022 02:01

Hallie Caroline is really lovely.

You could even call her Caroline with Callie for short.

But Hallie Caroline works beautifully.

Fivebeanchilli · 18/12/2022 10:40

Hallie Caroline is gorgeous.
Personally I find short middle names like May, Rae etc really dull anyway so would always pick a long and interesting mn. But with the additional factor of its being your mum's name I would definitely go for it

2020firsttimemum · 18/12/2022 20:25

Thank you all

Spoke to DP today and he's happy for us to have a Hallie Caroline

Which is perfect really. Our little boys middle name is his family side and our little girls will be mine so it's lovely

Can't wait for her arrival now!

Thanks all 🤍

I'm amazed at all these other Hallie's I've only ever met one other and my DD is nearly an adult Grin

ScruffMuffin · 18/12/2022 21:47

I was going to suggest Carol or Cara if you wanted a variation, but I'm glad you and your husband have agreed. Caroline is perfect - plenty of history and meaning, and under-used nowadays.
