Parents hate name choice

DP and I have finally settled on a name for DS2, Innes. My parents vocally dislike it and keep suggesting alternatives. Yes, we should just have kept silent on names, but we didn't. There's no real point to this post, it's just getting me down! I don't really want to keep on searching for another name, but it also doesn't feel that nice that people already dislike his name.

They'll get over it once he's here. And in a year's time they'll flatly deny that they ever disliked the name.

Innes is a gorgeous boys name.

My mil didn't like our girl choice. We had a girl, we used the name we loved. She seems to like it now

I also thought it was a girl’s name?

Ines is a girl name. It's relate to the Latin Agnes.

Innes is a boy name. It's an Anglicised version of the Gaelic name Aonghus.

What a nice strong name with history.
It’s great both you and DH have found a name you both love.
