Cute but "spunky" baby girl name suggestions needed!

Okay, I have quite specific requirements for baby girl 2 but haven't come across "the one" yet.

I like: Amber, Phoebe, Matilda,

I like names that are easily spelled/pronounced, but not top 10, have a little bit of an edge and could stand the test of time. Ideally around 5-8 letters and not end in the letter Y.

Totally agree this thread is way to subjective to be helpful to the OP. For me Saskia is the opposite of spunky but then it reminds me of an incredibly drab person I knew at school.

The Bleu I know of is pronounced Blue.

Yeah, spunky is probably too subjective, none of those you listed give me that impression at all.

The names that came to my mind:

Roxanne/Roxy
Jessica
Maxine
Vivienne

Then again, I have a child with an unusual 'edgy' name and they are the sweetest, most sensitive little soul you could meet (usually 😂) so they don't always live up to the name.

Dorothy. Dora. Dottie etc.

Mabel. Edie/Edith. Things with a 40s vibe make me think of women getting out there and showing they could do jobs they hadn't been allowed to do along with spunky heroines from films of the time.

A very different kind of name but I agree with someone above that Sadie fits the brief quite well. I like the name Suki or Sukie too. Also Polly. (Talking of kettles). But it gets a mixed reaction on here.

I like Maeve but don't find it that cute and spunky. More serious and grown-up.

Too much like tippex for me 👎

Josephine. Hebe. Frida.

ChickinMarango · 23/11/2022 21:49

We have a luna and I’m not keen on it now 😫 Our second is spunky and daring and I think her name suits her perfectly, Lyra.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 23/11/2022 21:53

Lyra is a great name - also love Hester, from Northern Lights.

What about George (Georgia, Georgina) a la famous five

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 23/11/2022 21:53

Also, while she was a wet rag in the movies, Ginny Weasley in the books was v.spunky, so Ginny.
