Still not got a baby name yet & wondering what everyone’s favourite is from our list. They are all quiet similar styles.

Cora
Dahlia
Violet
Imogen
Thea

I know quite a few Imogens.

Do like them all
The Deliah I know is a handful so.putsme off a bit

Cora in my favourite

waterlego · 18/09/2022 20:03

I like them all well enough but really love Thea. I knew a Thea when I was in my teens and she was smart, classy and very beautiful so those are the associations I have with the name.

DotDotDotDotDot · 18/09/2022 20:04

Lovely list OP. My favourites are Violet and Imogen. Dahlia is pretty but has a couple of different pronunciations, so might get annoying for you? Thea would get pronounced like Fee-ah/fear around here but may not be a problem where you live. Cora is nice also, it has a simplicity about it.

Biscuitsneeded · 18/09/2022 20:12

I'm not a fan of Imogen, there are too many of them and for some reason I just don't like it. I like Thea best, it's elegant and classy.

marblemad · 19/09/2022 03:43

Cora 2
Dahlia No because it reminds me of the black dahlia 5
Violet 4
Imogen 1
Thea 3

Pemba · 19/09/2022 04:14

Imogen is the only one I really like, it's beautiful.

I like Viola, but not Violet.

BloodyCamping · 19/09/2022 04:34

Cora and Thea are nice.

also Cara

WildfellAnne · 19/09/2022 05:46

Thea out of those, but I quite like Dahlia -how will you pronounce it?
Cora -prefer Cara
Violet -no.Weed. Vile-et doesn’t sound nice.
Imogen-no. Spelling mistake/printer’s error. Might have been classy once. Now not.

Thea is my favourite, followed by Cora.

Bournetilly · 19/09/2022 07:37

Violet is lovely and Cora and Imogen are nice!

I hate the name Thea, also think it sounds like Fear

NotABeliever · 19/09/2022 07:45

Violet
Not kern on the others

Whitewolf2 · 19/09/2022 07:50
  1. Imogen and Cora
  2. Thea
  3. Violet
I wouldn’t chose Dahlia because it reminds me of the black Dahlia murder
IggyAce · 19/09/2022 07:58

Cora: I like
Dahlia: Not a fan
Violet: No

Imogen: favourite, disclaimer it’s dd name she’s nearly 16 and it became popular just after we named her. I work in a school and we don’t currently have an imogen in ks2 after having at least 1 in each class for the last 5 years.

Thea: like but it’s popular where I am.

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/09/2022 08:08

Imogen is my top choice

Dahlia my bottom choice

Twizbe · 19/09/2022 08:17

I like them all. There's 1 of each at my daughter's preschool... it's a class of 20 odd. Just in case that matters to you:

Snugglemonkey · 19/09/2022 08:44

I like Cora and Violet best from these.

IShouldBeWriting · 19/09/2022 08:57

Stop with the "spelling mistake" for Imogen.
It's a very old name. It pre-dates mumsnet, standardised spelling, printing presses, and widespread literacy.
The sounds nn and m are commonly switched - compare Amabel and Annabel.
The explanation "Inno - gen" meaning "beloved child" is gorgeous. It's a timeless classic.
