Baby girl due soon we are stuck on these names to give her for a first name. We want one starting with the letter R. Which one of these names do you like best? If there are other name suggestions that begin with R that would be helpful. Thanks

Rowan as someone suggested up thread.

Raven is kind of cool too, but then I love ravens so I would think that.

dotdotdotdash · 15/09/2022 18:20

I like Rowena, Rosa, Rowan and Ruth

LadyApplejack · 15/09/2022 18:21

Ruby.

I also quite like Rachel (spelt like that) which you never hear on anyone under 30!

Rose or Ruby.

Raeven · 15/09/2022 18:23

Rhianna but I am biased as that's my dd name. Had I have had a third child they would have been Raven or Rowan ☺️

Robin is my favourite name beginning with R. I like Ruby best from your list but Roxy is awful.

Rhiannon

Barleysugar86 · 15/09/2022 19:06

I'd avoid all variants of Rose tbh- I meet so many of them now, if its not a first name its a middle and I have met a few Rosalie's too.

Ruby and Robyn are lovely.

Rachael - Rachel feels very 90s dated and Rachael just doesn't look right to me.
Rosie - this is too much of a nickname, I prefer a longer version.
Ria - this feels a bit insubstantial.
Raya - I like it but it feels a bit Teen Mom at the moment.
Ruby - this is pretty but very early 00s.
Raven - it's quite nice but a bit too teenaged-witchcraft-phase for me.
Roxy - I don't like it on its own, it's fine for Roxanne.
Rhianna - will forever get "like the singer?" comments. I do like Rhiana but wouldn't use it for that reason.

I would pick Ruby.
