Violette, Juliette or Vivienne?

Hello everyone! We are having a daughter and we need advice on the names Violette, Juliette and Vivienne, because we cannot choose. I'm open to other name suggestions as well. I'm French but I live in London so all names should preferably be French! DD1 is called Mathilde Pénélope and DS is called Théodore Louis. Middle name suggestions would also be helpful!

Violette and Vivien ne are lovely.
also, Apolline, Solene.

This thread makes me want to be French so I can call my children these beautiful names!

Titsflyingsouth · 29/07/2022 17:31

Violette is my favourite.

Forconfessingonly · 29/07/2022 18:08

Vivienne. I like Viv as a nickname.

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/07/2022 19:46

Vivienne - it’s so vivacious, and it’s the one people will say closest to theFrench pronunciations

Juliette is pretty, getting quite popular.

Violet is overdone, and people will say it the English way always

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 29/07/2022 22:27

Definitely Vivienne

Crikeyalmighty · 29/07/2022 22:47

How about Margot?

madeleinedupont · 30/07/2022 16:39

Love that name but unfortunately it’s also my sisters name

They’re all lovely but I like Vivienne as a preference. No one younger than about 48 is going to associate it with a TV character from the 80’s.
I also like Eloise, or Delphine as a middle name.

QuimReaper · 30/07/2022 16:52

Vivienne without a doubt!

Vivienne Genevieve would be delightful. Or Vivienne Ottillie.

Crikeyalmighty · 30/07/2022 16:54

@madeleinedupont Ha, shows I have good taste-

How about Mimi ? Someone I know has Margot and Mimi

My granddaughter is called Zara - quite French I think

OneCup · 30/07/2022 17:38

These are three lovely names. I may have avoided Violette on the basis that it is spelt differently in English and French. What if it annoys your daughter?
Are you thinking ever going back to live in France? Vivienne is more old fashioned....in case that bothers you?

timeisnotaline · 30/07/2022 17:43

Vivienne but they are all nice. Elodie, Genevieve, Garance, Clementine?

newbiename · 30/07/2022 17:45

Violette is beautiful? MN Josephine or is that too much?

Chocolateislife88 · 30/07/2022 17:47

I really like Vivienne and Violette

Soonberaining · 30/07/2022 17:56

Love Violette. It's obvious that it's not pronounced the same as Violet.

Vivienne is the name of my neighbour from hell, so bad vibes for me!

Juliette - meh.

French names in my family: Josephine, Louise, Marguerite.

Bert2e · 30/07/2022 17:58

Violette!

ODFOx · 30/07/2022 18:04

Are you British? Juliet and Violet are easier to pronounce and spell.
If you are not British and will pronounce the hard Te at the end then fair enough, otherwise keep it simple otherwise she'll spend her life spelling it out or looking askance when it is mispronounced.

Otherwise, all three are lovely. Congratulations 🙂

ODFOx · 30/07/2022 18:06

Ignore all of that except the final paragraph now I've actually read the op properly!
Sorry!

17caterpillars1mouse · 30/07/2022 18:09

Violet is starting to seem a bit overdone so I would avoid Violette personally.

I can't seem to warm to Juliet / Juliette but Julietta is ok

I think Vivienne is a fantastic name and love Vivi as a NN so i would choose this one

Weefreetiffany · 30/07/2022 18:27

Is violette vee-oh-Lette or vy-oh-lette?

I love vee-oh-lette but the second one is probably more usual for English speakers

Ikeameatballs · 30/07/2022 20:24

Vivienne, love it!

FuckingHateRats · 30/07/2022 20:26

Juliette is my daughter's name so I vote that!

ReadtheReviews · 31/07/2022 02:17

I like the shorter Vianne. But out of your three, Vivienne.Juliette I bumped to my daughter's middle name as didn't want it shortened to Julie. Violette I prefer as Violetta and my autocorrect turns it to Violence every time.

whatyousayin · 31/07/2022 02:34

Vivienne
