Anyone with/knows an Amelia - what are her nicknames?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently pregnant with baby #2 and playing around with names. I don't know the gender yet. Boys names come easily to me, but really struggling with girls names.

I do really love Amelia - but I feel pretty much everyone will shorten it. For any parents of an Amelia - or know someone with that name - what do you call them? I've heard of Amy and Lia (Leah) mostly as nicknames.
Do people confuse her nickname for her actual name?

(I would call my daughter Amy or Leah and avoid this issue, but we already know people/have family with these names so can't)

3 in DD's class were Amelia A, Amelia B and Amelia C.

The others I know are Millie and Mils

amelia. Where i comefrom (indonesia) the nickname for amelia is lia.

My niece doesn't have a nickname she's just called Amelia however my 1 year old calls her Melia but that's because the A is too hard

Amelia - why do names have to have a nickname? It's a beautiful name.
I have an issue with nicknames/shortened names and make it very clear if anyone tries to shorten mine.

My neice is amelia but doest have a nickname

Mel Silver in Waking the Dead was Amelia Silver.

'Melie'. Makes me think of mealworms. I know it keeps topping the lists but it's not a popular name where I'm from at all.

My daughter (Amelia) is known as Amy - one person only, calls her Millie (which I associate with Millicent).

The only Amelia I know is called Milly.

My DS's friend is known as Milly or Meely depending on whether her friends or her family and their friends are addressing her.

Why does every child NEED to have a nickname???

Millie. It’s incredibly popular where I am.

I know one and have never heard her name shortened even at preschool / school. She's just Amelia.

The Amelia recently born in my distant family was destined to be Milly long before her birth.
