What name 'goes' best with Tabitha? (As well as being the nicest name in it's own right?)

Rosa
Beatrix
Genevieve
Annalise
Dorothy
Theodora
Joy
Martha
Harriet
Hermione
Eliza
Phoebe

(These are all namea we considered for Tabitha before settling on Tabitha, hence why maybe some don't 'go' so well alongside it, hence my question!)

And, any other suggestions?

You can't do Winifred or Hermione with Tabitha...you'll have two witches! Eliza is my favourite from your list.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 25/07/2022 04:40

Samantha
Endora

neerg · 25/07/2022 05:09

Before I had even read your name suggestions, I am hoight Beatrix would go beautifully!!!

donquixotedelamancha · 25/07/2022 05:22

Sister for Tabitha

Has to be Tallulah. Please tell me your surname is bag.

scoutcat · 25/07/2022 05:40

I loooove Dorothy! Nickname Dottie! We would have used it except it's FIL's mum's name and there isn't a good story between them.

NessieMcNessface · 25/07/2022 06:14

Tabitha and Hermione (nn Marnie as suggested)
Tabitha and Beatrix (Tabitha and nn Bea is lovely
Tabitha and Dorothy (love nn Dottie)

Also love Aurelia, Violet and Margot

All beautiful with Tabitha.

Ohwait · 25/07/2022 06:15

I have a Dorothy and Tabitha was definitely on top of my list.

custardbear · 25/07/2022 06:28

I like Phoebe and Annalise
I also have a Tabitha and if our son was a DD he'd have been

Imogen
Remy
Sorrel
Araminta
Vivica
Saskia

Sellorkeep · 25/07/2022 06:34

How might you feel if your mum had chosen your name so that is complimented your older sister’s name?
Just choose a name that you like and don’t worry about whether it goes!
And that said, having sounded a dozen or so pairings out in my head, I can’t think of anything that doesn’t sit well with Tabatha ;-)

Cyberworrier · 25/07/2022 06:38

There was a Lydia at my school and she was Lydia 99% of time but sometimes called "Lyds" pronounced Lids for short. Not the most nicknamey of names but random nicknames are fine aren't they and can develop organically!

PP is right, if you use Hermione you have two witches, hmm!

Have you considered Dorothea instead of Dorothy? With Doro/Dora, Dotty/Dolly or Thea as a nickname.
I like the sound of Dolores but I find the meaning a bit off putting!

I think Beatrix is the one...

FindingMeno · 25/07/2022 06:42

Annalise from your list. Tabby and Annie.
But from other suggestions I love Winifred.
Tabby and Winnie.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 25/07/2022 06:46

I know someone with Tabitha & Rosie

Amdone123 · 25/07/2022 06:57

My first thought was Delilah, and I see it's not been mentioned. I love Tallulah, but too much with Tabitha, which I love btw.
Agree with a pp - Dorothea, is lovely. Love Thea.
I'm unsure about Winifred, as it's very old fashioned to me. And doesn't sound nice, to me.
I remember when Fern Britton had Winnie, I was surprised 😮.
Love Eliza, Nancy ?

pilates · 25/07/2022 07:03

On your new list Rosa or Eliza.
The other two are nice but dislike Dorothy.

ANUsernam · 25/07/2022 08:20

Winnie is another witch name so I wouldn't use that.

Irises are poisonous to cats, so I don't know if you'd want to use that with a name that's associated with cats.

(Appreciate that may be overthinking it, but I figure people ask about baby names on here to get people's real thoughts rather than the bland 'lovely name' comments they'll get from their loved ones who don't want to offend over the chosen name, and that was what went through my head when asked to consider the names)

I like Lydia with Tabitha. The Lydia I used to know went by Lyddie (though I still prefer Annalise/Eliza/Harriet)

ditavonteesed · 25/07/2022 08:23

Very outing but I have a Tabitha and her sister is Genevieve

Elfbeth · 25/07/2022 08:29

All lovely names. I’d rate them as

  1. Beatrix (Bea)

  2. Dorothy (Dora)

  3. Eliza

I also love the name Marnie and I don’t think it needs a ‘full’ name

itssquidstella · 25/07/2022 08:33

Lots of lovely names on your list! The ones that go best imo are:

Rosa
Beatrix
Annalise
Martha
Harriet
Eliza

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/07/2022 08:35

I like Tabitha and Beatrix best

motherofawhirlwind · 25/07/2022 08:59

I have a Tabitha (nn Abi) and we also liked

Hermione (Mimi)
Imogen (Immy)
Meredith (Merry)
Willow
Hazel

acornpattern · 25/07/2022 09:23

I love Tabitha. It was on my shortlist as was Harriet so I vote for that. I like most of your names to be honest but I would choose one which doesn't end in an 'a' so they are a bit different. Love Dorothy too.

Greensleeves · 25/07/2022 09:27

I don't understand the aversion to multiple "witch names", I don't think most people would make that association, and even if they did I don't see why it's a problem.

I love Dorothy and Dorothea, and think it would be so lovely for Tabitha to be able to call her Dolly if that's what she loves.

I also like Winifred, Beatrix and Hermione.

I've been saying "Tallulah Bag" and "Tabitha Bag" over and over in my head trying to work out what this comment means and I still have no idea 😂

There was 80s kids TV show called T bag with those two characters in. It always springs to mind when I hear Tabitha.
