I don't know if it's the hormones(time of month not pregnancy) but Prudence is beginning to have a certain charm. Somehow it seems adorable to me when I picture it on a little girl.

I've absolutely loved Gretchen since I was a child.

I loved it since I heard the album 'Gretchen goes to Nebraska'

JennyForeigner · 04/08/2022 21:17

I love Prudence, and I feel like Gordon Brown would approve which can only be a good thing.

Love names like Nell and Annick too.

Backhometothenorth · 04/08/2022 21:30

Esther and Cora

Dear Prudence is my fave Beatles' song!

I thought that was by Sioxsie and The Banshees.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/08/2022 13:34

Deborah.

Cynthia.
Linda.
Virginia

Although I think it's the vibe rather than the actual sound.

ghostyslovesheets · 05/08/2022 13:36

I wanted Jane or Joan, Helen and Mary for my three but was overruled! They have traditional names but not the ones I loved

ProbablySleeping · 05/08/2022 13:56

I love Brian. There was a thread about it recently and I've come to think it's so cute

Maxifly · 05/08/2022 14:01

Dorothy, Audrey, Georgina, Hamish, Bruce.

OctopusDisco · 05/08/2022 14:08

When I was a child I wanted children called Sapphire (Saffy), Rocky and Sophienna/Saphienna (I name I made up 😂)

I also loved Gertie but not Gertrude. Also always think Humphrey is a great name if it wasn't thought of as a bit odd.

I now would love to use Rudi or Rocco for a boy but so many people think they are silly babyish names.

Coastalcreeksider · 05/08/2022 14:15

A very long deceased female family member was called Honor. Which I find myself quite liking. Apart from actress Honor Blackman, have never heard anyone else called it.

My nan was Leonora which I'm not too keen on but her middle name was Emmeline which I do like.

inappropriateraspberry · 05/08/2022 14:28

I love Prudence! Also quite like Gertrude and similar names. I think my love for Enid Blyton was a big influence!

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 05/08/2022 14:32

Agnes and Winifred. I knew ladies with these names who were awesome so fond associations and like the sound.

Mymoneydontjigglejiggle · 05/08/2022 14:39

I always loved Ernestina. I didn't have any girls though so DH got lucky there Grin

MassiveSalad22 · 05/08/2022 14:43

Love Hadley and Alberta which never go down well on here. Know one of each IRL.

Louise0701 · 05/08/2022 15:08

@bigknickersbigknockers I know a few little Olives and Betty’s

midsomermurderess · 05/08/2022 17:44

Mabel. For me it has a gentle sweetness. It root does lie in ‘love’.

SirVixofVixHall · 05/08/2022 17:45

KirstenBlest · 26/06/2022 19:22

Prudence is nice. I know a little Brigid which I think is lovely.

I like names like Mary, Susan, Helen, which aren't loved on here

Me too. I love all of these.
