It means “Christmas Day”and i have a daughter due in October but im concerned it’s not sound right on someone not born near Christmas. I just think this name is very classy and pretty and isn’t really heard of nowadays. Thoughts?

Nope, I hadn’t got a clue that was what it meant, just thought it was a pretty name

Bsaunders4231 · 07/06/2022 18:02

No. I didn't know this. I know several Natashas and they are not Xmas babies.

WakeWaterWalk · 07/06/2022 18:02

No.

BathTangle · 07/06/2022 18:02

The Natasha I know was born on Midsummers Day!

KirstenBlest · 07/06/2022 18:04

No, but would assume Natalia was.

Oneforposy7 · 07/06/2022 18:05

No, not at all. I had no idea it was liked to Christmas.

ZooMount · 07/06/2022 18:06

Nope, never heard of that.

JanglyBeads · 07/06/2022 18:06

No

EmmaH2022 · 07/06/2022 18:07

No. That's interesting.

Oizys · 07/06/2022 18:07

Nope wouldn’t cross my mind. Holly and Ivy I would assume were December babies maybe Christmas but not Natasha

Doubleraspberry · 07/06/2022 18:08

The Natasha I know was born on Boxing Day but is Jewish and doesn't celebrate Christmas; if asked to guess, I'd think her name is a coincidence! I never knew its meaning before. I did know about Natalie, so have just never processed the connection.

yummytummy · 07/06/2022 18:08

my friend is one and is a december baby! it can also mean christmas gift i think

Dfg15 · 07/06/2022 18:11

I have an October born Natasha, i had no idea that was the meaning. I'm sure I read that it meant Princess, but I cant find any reference to that now.

nearlyspringyay · 07/06/2022 18:11

No, I had no idea

BeyondMyWits · 07/06/2022 18:15

Nope, would not think of Christmas, makes me think of Eastern Europe, but only because the 2 Natashas I know are from there (both born in September)

SycamoreTall · 07/06/2022 18:24

No, not at all.

It really just means "birthday" in Latin (well, dies natalia does, and so Natalia does, and Natasha is another version of it). Traditionally referring to Jesus's birthday. But everyone had a birthday after all. 😁

User6761 · 07/06/2022 18:32

I had no idea that was that meaning.

I would associate Noelle with Christmas, and to a lesser extent Holly.

VariationsonaTheme · 07/06/2022 18:34

No, wouldn’t cross my mind (my immediate link would be to Marvel movies!)

FlipFlopShopInHawaii · 07/06/2022 18:35

Go for it for your October baby! It's a lovely name, and I'm another who never knew it was a Christmas name.

12Thorns · 07/06/2022 18:35

Yes I would assume a Christmas baby, as that is what it means

Moosake · 07/06/2022 18:36

No

wheresmyshoe · 07/06/2022 18:38

No, my friend is a Natasha and Jewish.

Withacherryonthetop · 07/06/2022 18:39

It’s my name and I’m born in May. I don’t think it matters at all. Delighted to hear of babies potentially being called it as I thought it was a bit dated!

No, but would assume Natalia was.

This thread has blown my tiny mind. And the only Natalia I know was born mid June.
