Your thoughts on Elizabeth Dawn Salisbury?

Elizabeth was the first name that came to mind, which was on the list to pick for my daughter. I chose Dawn for the middle name. Do you like the names?

I like Elizabeth but not so keen on Dawn. What about Laura as a middle name?

Rainbowqueeen · 24/04/2022 11:39

It’s very pretty.

Oncemoreforluck · 24/04/2022 11:45

I’m very biased….but I love it.

rocketfromthecrypt · 24/04/2022 11:51

It's a shame because it has such a lovely meaning but I think Dawn is a pretty awful name. Elizabeth is very classy though and has lots of diminutive/nickname potential.

toastofthetown · 24/04/2022 12:39

Dawn is very 1960s and names from that generation are still lacking in mass appeal (few threads on Janet, Deborah, Julie and Angela etc.) so I can’t see Dawn having the warmest reception on here. That said, I’m only offering the view because you asked. If someone introduced their child as Elizabeth Dawn, most people won’t think too deeply about it and will probably forget her middle name pretty quickly.

Twizbe · 24/04/2022 12:41

Elizabeth is an amazing name (so biased though as it's mine) so many shortened forms and nick names. It's timeless and suits any age.

Dawn is ok, not my favourite but as a middle name it's fine.

PeskyRooks · 24/04/2022 12:42

The first thing I thought was Vera Duckworth!

Sunnyshoeshine · 24/04/2022 12:45

My DD has Dawn as her middle name so i say go for it!

Mytoddlerisamazing · 24/04/2022 12:58

Lovely!

Fawn makes me think of Buffy but maybe I'm showing my age 😂

Mytoddlerisamazing · 24/04/2022 12:58

Dawn

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 24/04/2022 13:02

Sounds aristocratic in the nicest possible way. She could be a friend of the Brigertons 🙂

KirstenBlest · 24/04/2022 14:21

Vera Duckworth. Came across Liz Dawn IRL and didn't like her

Don't mind Dawn. It does aeem a bit 1960 but it's much better than Aurora

user3199 · 24/04/2022 15:17

I like Dawn as a middle name - a nice change to the ubiquitous May, Grace, Rose etc which just seem like filler names. (Although I prefer all of those names to Dawn as first names!)

Exactly that but I like Elizabeth but it has tended to be used as a middle name

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 24/04/2022 15:27

Salisbury is a nice surname.

Not keen on Elizabeth or Dawn.

BarbaraWoodlouse · 24/04/2022 15:30

My first thought was Vera Duckworth too but I am probably the last generation that will make that association (late 40s).

Elizabeth is beautiful. Dawn is currently a little dated but suspect it will make a comeback.

TheNewUpdateIsShit · 24/04/2022 15:43

I thought some old lady from Coronation Street too, didn’t realise it was Vera Duckworth’s name.

whatausername · 24/04/2022 15:50

Wasn't Dawn the woman who died in the Salisbury poisonings?

AProperStinging · 24/04/2022 15:51

The name as a whole sounds like a character from the kind of romantic novels you find abandoned in holiday rentals.

Agree. That's why I'd give a punchier first name.

Corina776 · 24/04/2022 16:42

Is she going to be born aged 55 years old?

That made me snort 😆
Sorry, OP.

Elizabeth Salisbury is a lot of letters to write for a little person!

We figure it out eventually (my name is only a few letters shorter)

20viona · 24/04/2022 22:23

Sounds like a pensioner to me sorry.
