Hi lovely people

Baby no 2 (a boy) is due in 2 short weeks and we still don't have a name. DH and I can't seem to agree or there is a reason we can't "use" the name.

Our daughter is called Charlotte and I tend to prefer traditional names that you can shorten when they're little.

So far we have Oliver and Joshua, but neither feel right (I may be being sensitive as I had name regret with my little girl).

Any suggestions would be really welcome!

I know a Charlotte with a brother called Ben, their mum was the opposite of you and doesn't like names that can be shortened so Charlotte is Charlotte until she chooses otherwise and Ben is a Ben not a Benjamin.

I know a couple of Charlottes - their brothers are Grant and Alex (Alexander) 😊

We have a Max and if we’re lucky enough to have another child then a boy would be Miles and a girl would be Charlotte if I get my way, DH wants a Poppy Grin

I know it's not a fashionable name now but as soon as I read your title that was my immediate response.

eurochick · 12/02/2022 15:14

We had a shortlist of three names for each sex and Charlotte was on the girl list. The boy list was Alexander, Benedict and Sebastian. All lovely names and would go well with Charlotte (which is a lovely classic name btw).

SallyWD · 12/02/2022 15:16

I immediately thought of Edward and Thomas.
