For a girl? What's your thoughts?

I love it in one breath but is it faddy? Having doubts.

I think it’s an absolutely beautiful name and was determined my daughter would be called Wren. Ex dh kept pointing out though that as he’s 6’2” and I’m 5’11” and neither of us were exactly daintily built it was quite likely that our daughter would follow in our footsteps of being built like a brick shithouse and that Wren might not be a particularly suitable name. Willow was dismissed for the same reason. Dc2 turned out to be a boy in the end, despite what the sonography thought at the scam so it was all out the window anyway!

My 9 month old DD is Wren 😌
She's a petite with beautiful dark brown curly hair and the biggest blue eyes. It suits her perfectly and I love it so much.
We always got lots of lovely comments on it

I don’t think it’s faddy. It’s been a well known (albeit not commonly used) name for my entire life at least. I can think of characters in TV shows from my childhood called Wren.

I love it as a girl’s name but I know that lots of people will think it’s a name that suggests a small/petite person and my DC certainly don’t fit that bill. We’re a tall and well-built family. I wouldn’t have wanted to lumber my DD with a lifetime of rude comments from people with no filter.

Helen George's DC are called Wren and Lark, so it could definitely be faddy. I do like it though.

I just hear it as Ren and it sounds very blunt and male. Really don't understand where people hear the beauty in it. But if you like it go for it, tha majority of posters here seem to, so maybe it is me missing something.

I have a Wren and in the two years since she was born every single person has commented on how lovely her name is.

I loved it as soon I heard it and I cannot imagine her being anything else.

I think Lark is better than Wren. It has the virtue of being unusual and a bit quirky. Wren is much more common, and whilst it may have had a quirky original feel about it once - perhaps as Lark still has - it’s lost that feel as its popularity has grown.
