Opinions on this name for a girl please? 😊 considering

I just have an image in my mind of a toddler repeatedly saying 'ottie needs potty'. It's too cutsey-poo and silly.

Really awful.

It just sounds unattractive in any accent besides a crisp RP English accent, and I wouldn't love it, but in a cockney accent, in an Irish accent, in an American accent... it's kind of ugly.

Obviously anything can be used as a name…Webbi, Porvy-Mell, Urkle, whatever.

It's harsh sounding and reminds me of an otter.

Not that I dislike otters, they're cute, but I wouldn't really want my child's name to remind me of a fishy-smelling river dweller that bites.

Yes it makes me think of an otter too. Call me boring but I prefer a classic name that will stand the test of time. Poor kid will be stuck with that for life, you need to think deeper than just liking the sound of it!

I don't mind Ottilie with Ottie as a nn. It's a bit odd for an adult.

I think it’s cute but would definitely use Ottilie or a variation as a full name.

It sounds like a nickname or shortened version of a name. I prefer Charlotte with the shortening Lottie.

CourtRand because it's a German name, and German (and many other related languages) names with a final 'e' are pronounced with a a 'schwa' - in other words, as an 'eh' or 'uh' or faint 'ah' sound. For example, I know a Dutch person named Anne, pronounced 'Ahnn-uh'.

I'd pronounce Ottilie as Ott ee lee eh. 4 syllables.

Emphasis on the second syllable O TEE lee eh

To call someone ottie seems a bit potty, sounds like she won’t be a hottie instead a bit grotty and snotty.
